The last artist of September is one that lives and breathes our like-minded philosophy: anonymity. 
We can't give information about him, all we can say is that he is from Russia. He debuted with the track "Totemz" released on the always impeccable Samurai Music, released his "Alter Ego" EP on Weaponry (curated by the one and only Homemade Weapons), has an EP collab called "Fatum" with the main man Torn and he is currently working on a solo EP for Samurai Music. This is the concept of Roho, which is supported by Presha. So as always:

BIO:
Shiken Hanzo is DJ and producer who has had various release on labels such as Cylon Recordings, Samurai Music, Repertoire, Blackest Ever Blacks sub label A14, Hojo Clan (his own label) and also released his first 2x LP on Inperspective Records earlier this year.
His newest music has coming out as a track on a 2X LP 12” compilation due out on the 17th of November 2021 on the Shotgun Festival label.
He also has a 12” Vinyl EP coming out probably in early 2022.

Back in September 2023 deviate saw Dennis Leick aka dreadmaul, drive a car load full of instruments and equipment from Mainz to Berlin. What followed was a completely original live-productions set. The vibe was beyond something special and truly legendary. We wanted to release this set despite some technical challenges with recording devices (as is the nature with “live”), its just too good to leave sitting on hard-drives. Thanks, peace and love out to the one and only dreadmaul and of course to all deviate supporters.

The biggest, most badass love goes out to Sam KDC who has gifted us with an absolutely astounding podcast (#064) ahead of his On the 5th Day appearance at Corsica Studios on September 1st. If you’ve been an avid collector of game-changing, quality techno and experimental over recent years then you’ll most likely know the score. Sam KDC (aka Samuel Wood) is a devoted boundary pusher within the electronic music field, producing since 2002 and making his own solid and hugely significant mark during the years that followed. Working closely alongside fellow musician ASC (James Clements), Sam KDC played a critical role in shaping the revolutionary vision of ASC’s Auxiliary label, contributing a multitude of releases along the way, helping to ensure it became the go to for deep, “outside the box” techno that it is today. He and ASC are also the pioneers behind the unique style that inspired Grey Area, a label collaboration between Samurai and Auxiliary, uniting 128 bpm with 170/85 bpm in a seamless, polyrhythmic, big impact manner.

As demonstrated herewith, Sam KDC’s mind-bending approach to techno and experimental, and the characteristics and complexities of his style - with its multiple BPMs and dynamic, shifting hearty pulse - culminate in an almighty rhythmic hurricane fuelled by a strong emotional power, sweeping you through mountainous peaks and caverns before releasing you in a breathless heap on the floor! His meticulously controlled sets, vibrating with depth and tension make it impossible to turn your attention elsewhere… and the good news is there’s plenty more where this came from when Sam is united with Corsica’s better than ever almighty sound system on September 1st. “This mix showcases forthcoming music from myself, UVB-76 and The Stone Tapes,” says Bournemouth based producer Jason Luxton aka Overlook. Luxton has released his stripped back, ominous productions via various European drum ’n’ bass and techno labels, but the majority of his output has been presented by the Bristol based UVB-76 imprint, founded by Gremlinz and producer trio Ruffhouse in 2015. Beyond the music of Overlook, the label-cum-collective’s back catalogue has a cohesive sound, described by Ruffhouse member Nick Callaghan as having a “thick atmosphere” and a “deepness”, which matches a strong and eerie visual identity.

The Stone Tapes is one of several UVB sub labels and is co-run by Luxton. Speaking to Louis Pattison in The Wire 424, he describes it as being concerned with sound as “audio apparitions”, inspired by ghost stories and building on the idea of fleetingness or space within a track, leaving room for uncanny apparitions of the imagination.

Sam KDC - Samuel Wood - is an English producer. He gained notoriety after his releases at Auxiliary, a label run by ASC, playing a key role in shaping it. Both artists can be successfully called a pioneering unique style - Grey Area - oscillating around ambient, techno and drones and being a mix of 128 and 170/85 bpm. He is also associated with Horo - the sister label Samurai Music - from the beginning of the label's existence.

Presha - Geoff Wright - from an early age realized his creative ideas using sound. DJ, promoter, distributor, label owner and artists mentor. Has been actively involved in many projects for over 30 years. He is the founder and owner of Samurai Music and Horo. He focuses on the futuristic style of Drum and Bass, which is the creation and hallmark of Samurai Music.
