For the latest Klasse Wrecks release, the label combine with Japan’s finest festival and events crew Rainbow Disco Club to collaboratively present WRECKSRDC.

Overrocket were an electro-pop band from Tokyo that enjoyed a grip of great releases in the early 2000s while signed to Neon Discs and its parent label Aten. During a digging session Luca Lozano discovered the forgotten tracks ‘Duralumin’ and ‘Shadow of the Sun’ and immediately set out trying to contact the band’s members to arrange a re-release and remix. A few months of patient trying, the connection was finally made and wheels were set in motion.

Musically the EP conjures up perfectly the sonics of that time, a grey area between analog convention and the unexplored territories of new digital freedom. Shadow Of The Sun is electro-pop perfection, with breezy vocals and a bouncing beat that sounds like nothing else around…past, present or future. Duralumin is a more dancey collection of blips and beats, one that will make sense in the current return to early 2000s aesthetics.

To round out the release and propel it into 2025, KW label bosses take a track each and interpret in their own way. Lozano revisits his electro roots with two remixes of Shadow of the Sun, distorted 808s and growling 101 basslines provide a simple backdrop for the perfect vocals. Mr. Ho takes Duralumin into a more driving and pacey direction, upping the energy and excitement with fast percussion and a huge side chained breakdown that recalls the unbridled rawness of the early 2000s, when everything was just a little bit more fun.

Keeping within the confines of Japan and in an effort to bring everything full circle, the label enlisted Japanese artist Gonno to master the tracks for an updated modern sound. The tracks themselves being mastered a few miles from where they were originally penned over 20 years ago.

Dam Swindle's Wanderist returns to Aus Music with club-ready three tracker, Imagine 

The Dutchman's third EP for the label blends breakbeats and house rhythms into fulsome electronic soundscapes  

Wanderist is the solo project of Maarten Smeets, half of the influential Dam Swindle duo. With that project and their Heist Recordings label, Smeets has spent the last decade-plus touring the world's best clubs and festivals and cooking up timeless house sounds across a wide spectrum of sub-genres. Earlier this year, they dropped their third full-length Open, which was a personal deep dive into a range of melancholic, ethereal sounds that often veered away from the dance floor and into lush home-listening. 

This new EP finds Smeets back in club mode and tapping into personal inspirations, from dreamy electro to dubby techno. Following his previous two outings on this label in 2020 and 2021 - which picked up support across the board from tastemakers like Len Faki, Anastasia Kristensen, Josh Wink and Luke Slater plus plays on BBC Radio 1, Ibiza Sonica and many more - he taps into fresh rhythms and a futuristic energy that moves body and mind. 

Opener 'Imagine' has shimmering synth work bringing scale to crisp, well-programmed broken beats. Careful, tender synth sequences layer in unresolved suspense while refracted vocal fragments and glitchy textures push into an otherworldly space. 'Wait' is a speedy cut built on deft but kinetic broken beats with a free-roaming bassline leading up to the stars. It's an immersive sound with lush layers of synths and cascading arps all dragging you into their orbit. 'Just a Groove' maintains the momentum with sparkling chords and urgent, cantering drums. Progressive melodies glow while the most subtle of trance chords hint at old school hands-in-the-air euphoria.

This one is dance-floor focused, and haunting vocals provide the deep and dark vibes you know and love from Jim. Second is ‘Lost In Karst’. Strap yourself in for this one – these aggy kicks will rattle any rig. Paired with spinny vox chops and raspy synths, this is one for peak time, guaranteed to spin out the dance. What Jim is all about. Next is ‘(g)round 7’. This track is brought together with rolling basslines weaved under steppy drumwork and percussion. Subtle atmospherics also sit in the back of the track, bringing an unsettling feeling – a feeling that isn’t resolved, and doesn’t leave you until the track is done. The last track of this EP is ‘Conscious Soil’. Jim takes you deep on this one – immersive pads create unparalleled vibes for the first half. Don’t be fooled though, this isn’t an easy going track. The second drop takes the energy right back up to 100 with rattling subs and in-your-face kicks.

Jim is flying the flag for our label and sound, which we truly feel embodies innovation. These are 4 tracks packed with experimentation, all whilst being rooted on the dancefloor. No nonsense, deep and atmospheric - special stuff from Jim.

UFC /Un Futuro Creíble/ presents its ninth release, Anti-Gravity. A small tribute to WipEout's first games released on the original PlayStation and other platforms. WipEout wasn't just about thrilling anti-gravity racing games, it was also about electronic music (ColdStorage, Orbital, The Future Sound of London, etc.) and aesthetics (The Designers Republic). All together, they formed a unique product that brought the future, raves, and club music to many homes in the 90s and left a lasting impression on many like us. AT2052 and AT2097 are two tracks inspired by all of this, which they hope could have been part of the soundtrack of one of the games.

Smile (Part II)

That classic 90s house sound is one that modern producers have constantly tried to emulate over the past two decades; however, few have truly mastered the feeling quite like UK producer @bragacircuit.

Real name Joseph Burrows, the mysterious artist doesn’t have too many appearances in the form of the press. Still, his signature, vocal-infused tracks have been celebrated by the likes of Ben UFO, Moxie, and more.
His style is quintessentially British, mixing breakbeat, downtempo, deep house, and UKG elements into rave-ready records that would perfectly soundtrack a Friday night basement rave in Hackney.

Whilst being active from around 2016, BC started to gain momentum around 2018-2020 with tracks like Cloudburst and his remix of Ssin’s 2020 track Love Affair finding their way onto NTS radio and theBasement Discos label respectively. From there, the Margate resident has amassed an impressive discography, which includes five long-form albums that have been either self-released or released on labels such as Air Miles, Axe on Wax, and Sour Edits.

His journey into electronic music has been an organic one. His tutelage has come from the friends closest to him, like Loed & DECED, who have also gone on to make names for themselves within their own right. To sum it up, Braga Circuit is a forward-thinking artist who represents the very best of the underground UK scene (in our humble opinion). For our thirteenth edition of //SNCMIX, Mr Burrows takes us through an hour of 90s/early 2000s deep house, shares his origins, and the tracks that shaped him.
