Overshock is a metal band from Costa Rica, formed in 2018 when Tony (rhythm guitarist), Steve (drummer), and Alonso (lead guitarist) came together to start the project's first steps. 

The concept of Overshock dates back to the early 2010s at a Central American Catholic high school, where Tony and Alonso began to enjoy metal and play guitar in response to the negativity and hypocrisy they experienced there. They dreamed that one day they could complete the band and perform on stage.

The band finalized their lineup in 2021 with the addition of Erick "Rebo" as bassist, and immediately began working on their first discographic release. 

Overshock wrote, recorded, and produced their debut EP, "Broken Thoughts," entirely on their own in the zenit of a small room in Hatillo. The EP consists of 5 songs and was released on November 17, 2023.

Overshock made their live debut on December 10, 2023, at an event called Wake of the Machine, held at Starview Bar in San José. 

The band's "Adrenaline Junkie Tour" took them to different locations across Costa Rica, and in April 2024, they made their first international appearance at the "Rock a la Playa" festival in Panamá. This also was the first gig featuring Sofía Ruiz in vocals, and in June 2024, after playing several gigs as live performer, Sofia officially became Overshock's main vocalist.
