Hello bass family! I bring you vibrations from the start of the season here in Bristol at the Jam Jar, the stomping ground of the weird and truly wonderful folk of the Psychedelic Jelly tribe. After over four years away from the decks, it felt so fucking good to be behind them again.

So honoured to share the live recording of my multi-genre morning dance journey from the Dinnawan stage at the epic @dragon-dreaming-festival, which includes (as always) my live vocal looping, yidaki/didjeridoo and percussion. 

As an attendee I experienced some profound transformations during this gathering of the tribes as I emerged into Spring from a deep and dark Winter season – and that energy is infused within this morning dance journey. Here is my live e-dance from 11.07.2025 at the Asheville Movement Collective...

How do we humans process and move through our emotions, our grief, our rage, our fear, our longing, our loneliness? How do we deal with the fear of the future, the ever-shifting unknown unknowns, the countless wars and atrocities, the very real existential threats to the people and the planet, the depths of despair, the raging fires inside, and the seemingly futile fight to save ourselves from ourselves? ...

WE DANCE - We dance harder than our minds think our body is capable of. To dance is to pray, to fully surrender E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G through the holy water pouring from our pores onto the wooden floors. It's the only way I know. And it's an ancient technology that has been around for as long as humanity.

This dance wave is meant to be a container to allow the frequencies of the full-spectrum of emotions come through and be felt and embodied.

Feel Life series continues with a talk with Scottish sound psyientist Hedflux, followed by his special mix for the show.

HEDFLUX is the main music project of Scottish-born DJ/Producer Steve Young. A life-long electronicmusic enthusiast, Steve has been spinning in clubs and festivals since before he was legally allowed enter them. Starting out in the early 90s golden era of rave, he went fromold-skool breaks to nu-skool breaks via happy hardcore and drum& bass, spending all his money on turntables, mixers and vinyl while changing his DJ namem ore often than his underwear. In the early naughties he developed a naughty relationship with psychedelic trance. Inspired by it’s smooth curves, other-worldly atmospheres, and an unrivalled ability to produce kaleidoscopic visions in the 3rd eye, he endeavoured to step up his production game and synthesize the ultimate heady dancemusic hybrid: psychedelic breaks! The debut Hedflux track “Music Is MyWeapon” was released in 2008 and this set the archetypal template for the next 5 years of music, during which time he released more than 30 records and performed across the UK, Europe, Australia and America.
