Take a compressor to those vocals.  They're a bit too quite.  I feel they should sit a bit farther forward in the mix.

That's a bit closer to where you want the vocals.  I would suggest recording a few additional copies of this track and let the slight differences give the vocals a fuller sound.

Overall I love the sound of this track.  The constant switches between dissonances and consonances are wonderful.

I'm not quite sure what the vocoder is saying. Perhaps add in a bit of the vocals without the vocoder effect, or go back and do a whisper track to annunciate the consonants a bit more, or maybe play with the number of bands? I've never really gotten a vocoder to sound good, so I can't quite recommend the right thing to do.

The Chicago Symphonies represents another magnificent four-disc collection of extended compositions by composer, musician, artist and educator Smith leading his Great Lakes Quartet in a celebration of Chicago and the rich contributions of the Midwestern artistic, musical and political culture to the United States of America. The first three symphonies, “Gold,” “Diamond” and “Pearl” are performed by Smith with three other contemporary masters of creative music, saxophonist/flutist Henry Threadgill, bassist John Lindberg and drummer Jack DeJohnette. The fourth, “Sapphire Symphony – The Presidents and Their Vision for America,” features saxophonist Jonathon Haffner with Smith, Lindberg and DeJohnette.
