The inspo for this one was Metropolitan Highway from the Sonic Forces OST, so I kinda just made my own take on that. It's entirely unique, but you can probably definitely tell it's meant to be like a sister track to it.

friend requested i reimagine this track "with a Metroid Prime-esque atmosphere" with a generous tip thrown in, so i cranked this out in a couple days and glad to say we're both happy with it

i know that the original was the product of crunch and legal issues, but it's still so bizarre to me that they picked a bad midi of Big Arms for the final dungeon when it's an eggman theme that afaik has nothing to do with angel island or anything echidna related.

i kept the spirit with some similar notes and even a "corrupted" version of one of the additions made to the Gens 3DS version of Big Arms, but otherwise tried to make something totally new out of it

i do wish sonic would try being an RPG again instead of slapping RPG elements into the flagship games. it's been long enough since Chronicles flopped/Ken Penders destroyed the canon and indirectly caused all of the mandates, SEGA please you're leaving good ideas and good money on the table

Zoah Colony reimagined | Sonic Chronicles [cover]

one of my all time favorite final boss tracks. back in 2021, Shinichi Itakura ‪released his very first demo of Falling Down all the way back from late 2004 and it had some really cool chords on the lead melody that didn't make it to the final track or even the Physis remasters. it's also just insanely awesome to have it out there now from a preservation standpoint! digital hoarders will inherit the earth 😎

my cover of this track specifically apparently started waaaay back in 2018, but this iteration definitely only got to here around 2022 to now. i actually found out about the demo a bit later, after i had already started adding a second guitar to the lead - great minds think alike i guess :^) i definitely took some notes after i heard it though, and tried to combine all my favorite elements of it, the GBA version and the Physis version with my own personal touches.
