GEST(@gest_dnb) have been turning heads in drum & bass for their masterful hold of versatility – able to produce some of the most impactful dancefloor-orientated underground hitters whilst simultaneously skilled in writing smooth rollers dripped in soul. A rejuvenated name to match a rejuvenated sound, the duo previously known as Gerra & Stone have quickly commanded support from some of the biggest names in the scene from only a handful of releases, with DJ Marky, Doc Scott and BBC Radio 1’s Rene LaVice all ear-marking the pair’s productions for their tracklists. With 2021 set to be their most prolific year yet, GEST have forged their own melting pot of sounds - inspired by Detroit techno and acid house - that is swiftly winning favour and carving out their own path within drum & bass.

The Italian DNB scene has gone through numerous waves of growth over the year, supported by a few inspirational and dedicated crews with strong roots in original rave culture.

Rikki Calliari, aka Frame, is a unique part of this growth wave and the ever evolving bass movement in Europe. As a DJ, producer and co-founder of Rude Sound, Frame has seen a plethora of releases across multiple labels that span the diverse frontiers of bass - including The Dreamers, Delta9 and Influenza Media.

We are therefore excited to welcome Frame into the Unchained famiglia, with his debut release on the label, the Arabic Gum EP.

Centring around quirky danceability, the title track’s middle eastern flavours raise an otherwise menacing dark steppa into an exquisite blend of hypnotic drum and bass, followed closely by an even weightier smooth roller, Blonde or Brunette. Good Feeling arrives just in time for summer with uplifting synths paired with cheeky horn samples and hefty subs. Then, In My Mind, Frame reworks the 90s Jungle sound complete with minimal amen breaks, vocal stand and rave funk balanced by clinical production.

Definitely a well crafted serving on our 2021 menu, We really hope you like this one!

Back on Dispatch following 2019's Sub Rosa’ and ‘Orbital’ EPs, Ben England aka Natural Forces delivers the stunning ‘Sense Memory EP’. Formerly one half of dnb production duo Basic Unit, his output as Natural Forces takes a much deeper and reflective tone – exploring minimal liquid sounds, packed with the type of progression and intricate details that make his music a perfect fit for Dispatch Recordings.

Title track ‘Sense Memory’ is a reflective, minimal stepper built around filtered vocals and classic liquid funk elements. Reminiscent of that early Creative Source sound, this one almost sounds straight from the dancefloors of Swerve.

Guiding things into tougher territory throughout the EP, Native Elements shows he knows how to work a bass synth just right, from the rolling ‘Birthright’ to the abstract jazz fused jungle drums of ‘Genesis’ via the heavy-hitting ‘Identity’. As the experimental track ‘Downwards’ rolls out, the snarling bass and off-key synth lead the listener deeper. The final track, ‘Lower Decks’, sees Natural Forces in full choppage mode, with precision edits and drumfunk-esque chops completing the EP with a heavyweight banger.

'The Music is my Life LP' tells the story of 14 years of dedication to drum and bass production. Dunk's debut LP is the result of many months of non-stop work, living and breathing the music - for the first time feeling he was able to deliver his musical vision in full.

Originating from São Paulo, Brazil, Dunk is one-half of the world-renowned Jam Thieves. He may be a new name to some, but he is no stranger to producing heavy drum and bass flows which push any sound system to its limit.

Working with complete artistic freedom in partnership with the label, Dunk was able to deliver on his dream of releasing a full-length drum and bass album, encapsulating his love for the music and the many varied styles it represents.

The entire album was mastered by the legendary Teebee at Black Science Labs. Dunk was delighted to receive a call from the man himself offering his full support and congratulating him on the strength of his production. A testament indeed to the Brazilian's talents.

We are proud to present this spectacular debut LP - 'The Music is my Life', landing in all online stores this October.
