The Dream Child is an original play written by Wyldwood founders Imogen Barnfather and Miriam Ulyatt based on the life and works of Lewis Carroll, and how Alice's Adventures in Wonderland came to be. As Carroll creates Wonderland, his Victorian society transforms into a world of colourful characters through which he leads the young Alice Liddell.

I perform in the play as the Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and have also composed the full original soundtrack.

As the dust of the industrial revolution settles over a new era, a visionary generation of idealists is rising, throwing their voice skywards, they shout for equality and a fairer world for all. A peaceful Cambridge street, a textile mill and an abandoned tailors shop become the centre of an elaborate battle of wits, sparking the beginnings of change for five bright young Victorians.
A tale of madness and marvel, beautiful minds and extraordinary people.

Revolution was performed at John Peel Theatre, Wigton, on Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st August, and the Kirkgate Centre, Cockermouth, on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd September 2017.

It's a song about otters. Who happen to also be pirates. Who happen to also be otters. Who are pirates. Otter pirates. Dedicated to my weird but awesome otter-obsessed friend Emma, who threatened- um, gently suggested I do a song about otters. Otters are cool.

Kinda did this by accident :P. Just seen Moonsorrow at Bloodstock, and was playing Huuto on acoustic guitar and fancied hearing what it would sound like with the multiple guitar parts layered up, so popped open Logic and recorded a few layers... but then I got a bit carried away and ended up doing tons of layers of acoustic guitar (some steel string, some nylon, including using the guitar body as a drum), some atmospheric keyboards, jews harp, a shaker (which was actually a pot of tablets, it was all I could find XD), and low whistle doing a funky staccato effect. Managed to get something pretty close to the original (except in E rather than D, couldn't be bothered de-tuning :P) but still with my own spin on it. Considering doing a full acoustic cover of this...

Original music I composed and produced for a promotional video for "Discover the Vikings" - a touring exhibition from The Jorvik Group at The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven. This is the music from the end credits, a completely stripped back version of the theme featuring only the instruments I played and recorded myself live (whistle and guitar) and some ambient fire sounds, taking away all the many layers of orchestration and sampled instruments, to contrast with the huge arrangement of the main piece.

Belated halloween special! Multi instrumental cover of the theme from The Welcoming, a scare attraction that ran at Alton Towers Scarefest 2017 - ’18 and tied in with the Wicker Man rollercoaster. The music was originally composed by Simon Allen, however as you will see I got a little carried away and ended up incorporating a few other tunes related to the Wicker Man theme. See if you can spot them!

I wanted to do this entirely with real acoustic instruments - nothing electric or synthesized/sampled - to fit with the theme of The Welcoming/Wicker Man. Nothing the Beornen would not approve of! So everything here is played by me. Instruments in order of appearance: Hurdy gurdy, jew's harp, tambourine, bodhrán, tin whistle, mandolin, shaker, and violin.

This rare Eluveitie B-side recounts the history of the renowned Gaulish chieftain Robbirotterix, and the rigorous training regimen he put his tribe through in preparation to stand against the forces of Roman Emperor Sportacus at the Battle of Lazydunum, c. 56 BC.

We Are Number One, in the style of Eluveitie. Everything arranged and performed or programmed by me (yeah, those backing vocals are my attempt at sounding as close to Anna Murphy as I, a dude, could muster) but a huge amount of credit has to go to the Melodicka Bros for their video “We Are Number One but it’s played in 13 METAL styles”, the Eluveitie section of which was entirely what inspired me to create this full version, the interlude at 2:11 in particular. Something bright and uplifting to get our spirits up in these strange times! This tune never fails to cheer me up so hopefully it might do the same for you. Cover of Alba by The Sidh, originally an electro-celtic fusion tune, covered here in a more stripped back style with just acoustic guitar, whistle, piano and some light percussion (shakey boi and stompy boi, not pictured). All performed and produced by me except for the shakeyboi which was recorded and sent to me by Cole (from my band The Mowdies, link below) due to the fact my shaker is at her place and self-isolation means I can’t go get it!
