Written just days before I aborted the beautiful brain-child that could have been "Celestial Mechanics", I felt the waves receding. A separation was in order. Truthfully, many were. This song was inspired by the necessity of stepping away from situations you commit yourself to, because you have come to the realization that they are taking you nowhere...or nowhere you would want to go. I had a choice between having a band or friends. I chose the latter. Bands are exhausting. Don't start a band. Also, better version(s) may follow.....maybe.

I Lose (Scratcherriffic)

I was on my lunch break, so I went home. Being broke I decided to pick up my guitar instead of eat, but beforehand I somehow was smart enough to hit the record button on my phone where most of the recent tracks originate...and by most I mean all. Now, this is not that version. It's almost as quality, but due to the tempo issues that incurred during it's creation, I've decided to share this terrible, clippy version with you. Once again, all tracks containg the word "scratch" you may see again in a prettier light. Until then, enjoy the mediocrity!

This song was a poem at first. I wrote the poem months ago in attempt to capture something I feel is pure and right amongst all the tainted and wrong. Ambiguous, I know. Still, after seeing Brand New at the Fillmore in Denver and all the familiar faces that were there, I was inspired to take this admittance/apology/poem/acknowledgement of my ability to live mostly in my own fantasy world/thing and put it to a tune.
Every song with scratch somewhere in the title is just that. I'm just posting ideas as I go...maybe one day I will give you some more legitimate, more full versions...who knows? Enjoy.
