Never Lost My Wallet (Before This Time)

From a Postal Blowfish related Jimmy Pollard tribute.  

In January of 1999, Guided By Voices played in New York City. I guess what could be best be called a 'fan convention' was going on during the same weekend. After the show, the band convened at Tonic Bar with fans from all over. In the course of this party, the chorus of the infamous "Corn Country" was sang multiple times by Bob Pollard. It was so catchy, I couldn't forget it.  So I wrote some verses and gave it a song structure. Probably not the same as Mr. Pollard's full version, but then that's never been released....  For some reason, I feel it owes a little to John Mellencamp. I'm not certain this is the final version, as I seem to remember a bunch of backing vocals.  Maybe that's just in my head. All instruments and vocals by Deral Fenderson. Recorded on analog four track.
