This is track is start of a new collaboration with my music friend Pete Swinton. I will be re-working some of his tracks from his excellent Project Drone Adzan Maghrib album.

This is another puece in memory of my Great Uncle Archie. The elder man in the photo is Archie whilst the little chap is his brother Roland (my grandfateher).

This is first of the four tracks of a new collaboration with my music friend Pete Swinton. I will be re-working some of his tracks from his excellent Butterfly and Ship album.

It was mixed in the AUM app on my iPad and used  iPad apps such as Hillman Synth, Euclidian, Nembrini Delay, Grand Finale, Fluss and Bleass Chorus.

Archie joined the Machine Gun Corps and fought at The Battle OF Loos in October 1915 and was severely wounded in the head and spent 16 weeks in hospital and returned to the theatre of war in February 1916.........

Not much is known of Archie's early life, expect that he worked as a foreman bottler at the Hopcraft and Norris Brewery in Brackley.

This track was played whilst flying from Heathrow to Copenhagen. It was recorded in AUM via AnimoogZ

Themes From Copenhagen I - Amkomst

This track was played in the Trinitatis Kirke in Copenhagen. At the time there was a wonderful organ recital in progress, so I felt compelled to create this track. It was played on the Moog Model 15 app. Effects from Eventide were added later on.

Themes From Copenhagen II - Trinitatis Kirke

This track was played in Free Christiania. It is based on a track that I never got round to completing. It was recorded in AUM and used the ID700 synth and Axon02. Effects used were Lo-Fi-Af and Rymdigare.

Themes From Copenhagen III - Radio Cristiania

This track was recorded in AUM ans used apps such as AOX02,auDSPr and Noises - all going through the effect Rymdigare.

Themes from Copenhagen IV - Øresund

This track was recorded in AUM and used apps such as Sunrizer and Hilman, The melodies came from Fugue Machine. Effects used were Nembrini Analog Rack Delay and Nembrini Delay3000.

This track was recorded and played in AnimoogZ.

Sonic Installations IV (the far tower)

This is the penultimate piece (well in order of composition) in the Archie series. For such a short track it went through several changed as I was never happy with it.....I guess a true labour of love!

It was mixed in the AUM app on my iPad and used iPad effects apps such as OtherDesertCities, MoogeFooger MF104s Delay,Speakers and Grnad Finale.

Butterfly And Ship (with Pete Swinton)  2.Dysphasia

A collaboration with a music friend Encym (Roland). I have done a few collaborations with Roland now and it is always a pleasure to work with him.
This track contains a number of wonderful samples that Roland sent me earlier in the year. These have been manipulated with an apps such as Fluss and SpaceCraft and with effects added from a Nembrini delay, Other Desert Cities and Speaker.

The track was put together in AUM.

Barbican Drones (with Encym)

This is track was created on my Roland MC307, which I puchased off eBay last year. I finally worked out how to record from it properly. It was great fun!

Ghost Hackers IV - Zero Day

This track was composed in AUM using apps such as Hida (going through a Rymdigae effect) and Hillman (going through a Nembrini Delay effect). Notes/MIDI came from Chordjam with additional sounds coming from Fluss Recorder (going via a Speaker effect), All mastered in Grand Finale.

A few weeks ago my music friend Soundpainter (aka Andrew Janik) got in touch about using one of my tracks from my Sound Installations album as he thought that it would work well with the track that he was producing. This is the result. It has been great fun going back and forth with Andrew exchaning ideas.

This track is influenced by  a recent visit to the National Museum of Computng at Bletchley Park here in the UK. The track was created in AUM and used apps such as Stria and ID700 with MIDI notes from Harmony Bloom and effects from Bleass Motion EQ, Bleass Delay and Otherdesertcities. The Commodore PET (Personal Electronic Transactor) was one of the first personal computers, released in 1977 by Commodore International. It was an all-in-one machine with a built-in monochrome monitor, a keyboard, and a cassette drive for data storage. It ran on the MOS 6502 processor and was one of the first widely available computers designed for businesses, schools, and hobbyists.

A collaboration with a music friend Encym (Roland)  Roland is one of the very few music friends I have had the pleasure of meeting face to face  (at a Tuesday Post gig hosted by the wonderful Georgina Brett). He is leaving London to return to his home city of Munich and the track is developed from some excellent samples that he sent me. These have been  radically developed/played in the app SpaceCraft and using an app version of a  reverb unit - RX950 (I used the physical version of this  on one my first ever tunes about 30 years ago). I was spending some time in the excellent DDR Museum and they had a section with old radio and TV clips. The one I really loved was a title clip of a TV show called Unser Sandmännchen. which is bascially. I just thought it was delightful and I did this "sort of" version of the track in Polychord in the x-terrain bar in the Oranienburger Strasse. Tuesday 03/07/12

Sandmann, Lieber Sandmann (please read description)

A collaboration with a music friend Encym (Roland Reinke).   I have done a few collaborations with Roland now and it is always a pleasure to work with him.
This particular track features some guitar sounds from Roland which I have done my ususal trick of weaving my own sounds around his. Another collaboration with @peteswinton. Pete are working on album together where we are reworking/remixing each others tracks.

This piece was recorded in AUM using one of Pete's original tracks (called Dark Day In The City) and adapting it in the Borderlands app and adding extra texture with Droneo. A couple of Eventide Delay and Reverb effects were added to the mix as well.

Evolving Cities (with Pete Swinton)

I started creating music on my old PC back in 2002 using DAWs such as Buzz, Fl Studio and Reason. As my artist name suggest I mostly compose tunes that have an ambient edge. My main passion is creating soundscapes, be they soft drifting drones/piano pieces/heavily synth driven, weirdly abstract and classical and orchestral pieces. I mainly compose using apps on my IPad but also make use of whatever instruments I have lying around such as my Pocket Operators, Modal Craftsynth, my favourite is an Early Learning Centre keyboard.

In the past my tracks have been played in BBC Radio Oxford and BBC 6 Music. Over the years I have collaborated with people from all over the world. Please message me if you would like to collaborate 😀
