Having released the popular ‘Voces’ on Earthly Tapes 03, DJ Raff is back on Earthly Measures for his first full EP on the label – expect Afro - Latin Tropical rhythms with a sprinkle of Acid throughout!

"Aquí Voy" is a collage of samples made up to create a tropical atmosphere with a constant bed of wiggly sub-basses that serve as the basis for the dissonant melodies of the Berimbau, the main instrumental within the track.

The title track 'Crudo' is a cross between Acid House and Percussive Afro-Latin rhythms. The track begins slowly with a rain of chants and percussions that give way to a storm of heavy kicks and a constant distorted 303, rounded off by soft Marimba melodies. Peak dance-floor vibes.

The Lo-fi Nostalgia Por Un Sample puts together samples of old scratch records whilst sampling vinyl that Raff used in the early 2000s to DJ in Hip Hop and Funk bands.

About this edit : 
We discovered Nilamayé through a friend who showed us a remix he found online. At first, we thought the remix was nice, but we immediately knew the original band was the real deal. After listening to their album Las Flores del Sol several times, we fell in love with La Plegaria, a deeply spiritual song. As always, we added a little extra something for our beloved dance floor 🌼

Descubrimos a Nilamayé gracias a un amigo que nos enseñó un remix que escuchó en internet. Al principio pensamos que el remix estaba bien, pero nos dimos cuenta enseguida de que la banda original era LA MOVIDA. Después de escuchar su álbum Las Flores del Sol varias veces, nos enamoramos de La Plegaria, una canción muy espiritual. Como siempre, con un toque Tripical para nuestra querida dance flor 🌼

This one is for you to not forget this great musician, called Issa Bagayogo. Bagayogo was a Malian musician. He blends his native Malian traditions with western pop music and has drawn comparisons to some of the great Malian musicians such as Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabaté.
Bagayogo died after a long illness on 10 October 2016.

This is not an official remix, all the respect goes out to Issa Bagayogo. My track is an interpretation.

Released in support of Tree Psyde 2019, where I was honoured to close the festival on a stage and dance floor set up like nothing I've experienced so far. Rather than dancing in a large clearing in the bush, one needed to step more deeply into the wilderness to find the dance floor <3

OXIDIX is a DJ, remixer and producer from the Swiss capital Bern. Known for his sophisticated sampling, his DJ skills and as a backup MC for various band formations in the fields of hip hop, world and electronic, OXIDIX can always be found year in, year out on all kinds of stages. In 2010 he completed a two-year Swiss tour with rapper & beatboxer STEFF LA CHEFFE. Inspired and spurred by a 19-month world trip through Asia, Africa and South America in 2012 and 2013, OXIDIX's field of work has steadily expanded. With his diverse, always surprising DJ sets, his live electro project THE LUGUBRIOUS and his collaboration with the multi-award-winning Basel rapper LA NEFERA, the producer and DJ has been able to prove how versatile and promising his work is in the live and production fields.

OXIDIX’s own compositions move somewhere between downtempo, electronic and hip hop. His music blends together the rhythms, melodies and mythologies of different continents with the sounds of the forest, the chirping of crickets, trickling stones and crackling leaves. The organic textures intertwine smoothly with a modern electronic sound aesthetic. Punchy, crispy beats bounce in the foreground, while a variety of self recorded instruments create a dreamscape full of depth and mysticism. A dreamy, warm and melodic trip that entrances as much through headphones as it does on the dancefloor.

OXIDIX has already participated in the following music projects: Steff la Cheffe, The Lugubrious, La Nefera, The Phanamanation, Dopestum, Churchhill, Sa Mood and others.
