Absolute honor to be on the same bill as these two legends. I had been following Elijah's DJ career for a while, I knew he liked funk, classic and threw in some rock hits on occasion.

I took this set back to the core of why I started my Oxymoron alias, melodic, deep and a couple classic vocals mixed in. 

Back to my roots with this one, and its the only way I would have wanted to pull this off.

2017 was the launch year for Oxymoron, a new brand coming out of Seattle. Alex Henkens is no stranger to the music realm at hand though;

Broadening his horizons, and artistically changing names for no other reason than to output the best music forward with no boundaries. Alex comes from ½ of the musical project Frequent Flyer Miles which was established in 2008. Respectfully starting his own independent journey in 2017, it goes with mention as part of FFM, the group was responsible for consecutive top 100 Trance releases, global podcast play, multi state tours and notable support.

Signed to record labels like Perfecto Fluro, ColdHarbor, Fuzion Four and IAMPHEONIX it was no shortage of quality releases.

Alas, the group broke up, and Alex started his new broadened horizon, setting his sights on all things melodic. Coming hot out of the gate releasing back-to-back singles on Built It Records, Oxymoron started becoming a known name in mere months, gaining top 10 positions in the Deep House chart and Funk chart respectively.

The opportunities started pouring in for being a supporting act as well as podcast play, From Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, Ronski Speed, Roger Shah, Thomas Datt, Daniel Kandi, Heatbeat, Myon, Kidnap, Fehrplay, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Kyau and Albert, Amtrac, EDX, Jody Wisternoff, Throttle and even legend Andy Moor.

The fruition of all encompassing broadened spectrum of melodic music, has come full force.

The success has continued since, Signing with labels such as OFDM Records, being the first new artist to chart top 10 on the deep house and melodic house consecutively and Late Night Munchies being the forefront melodic producer topping the selling charts as well as the beatport top 100.

With recent drive towards the progressive side, Oxymoron has become apart of the Emergent Records family, with his latest track Lucid, gaining support from some of the biggest names abroad.

Its clear Oxymoron is as consistent, as long lasting. Be it Progressive, deep, trance, all things melodic. Alex has captured the ears, eyes and support far and wide.
