We the people of this world
only want to burn it down
when short-term gains are found
we close our ears to the sound
of bombs that fly throughout our sky
we cannot see them, we deny
each body that we decimate
improves our miles per gallon rate

no charity for their holy ghosts
with many miles still left to go
somewhere, somehow, unknown.

The meek of the earth own it all
but all we have is stolen
the sweat and toil of working man
yet all his wealth beholden
The wheel of fate has many scams
it twists and spins, blesses and damns
the kings on high can play it's game
to pay fair price and offset shame
'Round and 'round and 'round and down
each one of us has worn this crown
and clowned around where evil's grown
somewhere, somehow, unknown.

All the disconnected calls
too busy to receive
amount to nothing less than all
the loneliness that we achieve
Progress seems so logical
to challenge it is comical
if markets ascertain our truth
we'll die inside an old phone booth
