Sendo representados apenas por produtores brasileires, estamos em batalha contra um governo negacionista e genocida. Com sonoridade ácida e explosiva, as faixas buscam liberar a euforia guardada, ambientando o caos e o medo, mas também o consolo e o alívio.

Como o veneno que corre rapidamente na corrente sanguínea, queremos acelerar os batimentos e fazer os corpos dançarem sob efeitos de adrenalina. Usem com atenção, esse álbum é altamente tóxico. Uma viagem com passagem apenas de ida.

Emerging from the longing for human warmth, physical contact and the clubs, our second compilation entitled VIUVA NEGRA was born, bringing energy and nostalgia for what was taken from us during a COVID-19 pandemic.

Being represented only by brazilian producers, we are in a battle against a denial and genocidal government. With acid and explosive sound, the tracks seek to release the stored euphoria, setting chaos and fear, but also comfort and relief.

Like the poison that runs quickly in the bloodstream, we want to speed up our heartbeats and make our bodies dance under the effects of adrenaline. Use it carefully, this album is highly toxic. A one-way ticket.

A founding member of the National Front of Women in Funk (FNMF) and a dancer and funk teacher, Renata Prado wears as many hats as she wants, especially if they're under the funk category. This multidisciplinary artist and intellectual is among a fierce generation of black and young people shaping the future of funk beyond the dancefloors and streets. 

For the NTS São Paulo Funk series, Renata has curated a special selection of baile funk tunes that tell the story of this music genre in São Paulo from the perspective of female artists. She adds a level of context to her selection with her voice and thoughts, creating a sort of funk sound piece that can be followed in English below.

"Can't Get You Out of My Head" is a midtempo dance song,[13] combining synth-pop and neo-disco,[14][15][16] which has a tempo of 126 beats per minute.[13][17] According to the sheet music published at Musicnotes.com by EMI Music Publishing, Minogue's vocal range spans from C4 to D5.[17] Minogue chants a "la la la" hook in the song, which is often heralded as its most appealing part.[18] BBC Radio 2 noted that the composition of the song is "deceptively simple, but its veins run with the whole history of electronic music."[19] They described the song's bassline as "pulsing," and recognised influences of English rock band New Order and German electronic music band Kraftwerk.[19] The song does not follow the common verse-chorus structure and is instead composed of numerous "misplaced sections."[8] Dennis reasoned that these sections "somehow work together" as she and Davis "didn't try to force any structure after the event. The seeds were watered and they very quickly sprouted into something bigger than any of us."[8] Likewise, Davis commented: "It breaks a few rules as it starts with a chorus and in comes the 'la's'– that is what confused my publisher [Fuller] when he first heard it."[8]

Through the lyrics of the song, its singer expresses an obsession with an anonymous figure. Dorian Lynskey from The Guardian termed the song a "mystery" as Minogue never reveals the identity of her object of infatuation.[18] The critic suggested that the person Minogue is referring to is either "a partner, an evasive one-night stand or someone who doesn't know she exists."[18] Writing for the same newspaper, Everett True identified a "darker element" in the simple lyrics and felt this sentiment was echoed in Minogue's restrained vocals.[20] Further, True emphasised that while Minogue's 1987 single "I Should Be So Lucky" had presented an optimistic romantic future, "Can't Get You Out of My Head" focuses on an "unhealthy" and potentially destructive obsession.[20] He also noted that in the former song, Minogue played "the wide-eyed ingénue with alacrity," but in the latter song she is aware of the harmful nature of her infatuation, calling it a "desire that is wholly dependent on her own self-control."[20]

In late 2012, "Can't Get You Out of My Head" was re-recorded by Minogue for inclusion in her orchestral compilation album, The Abbey Road Sessions.[21] On the album, Minogue reworked 16 of her past songs with an orchestra, which, according to Nick Levine from BBC Music, "re-imagine them without the disco glitz and vocal effects."[22] The Abbey Road Sessions-version of "Can't Get You Out of My Head" features a "more dramatic, fully fleshed out" musical arrangement, and follows a pizzicato playing technique, in which the strings of a string instrument are continuously plucked
