The Austrian born artist Alpha Tracks will be kicking off the very first release of Slash with 2 original tracks and remixes from Format (aka Orlando Voorn) and Slash founder KI/KI. Previous releases on BPitch, Blue Hour and Morbid were already a showcase of pure craftsmanship by Alpha Tracks, now on Slash he’s showing his consistency yet again, delivering high quality as always. With a love for analog hardware sound, the producer turns fast paced bangers, with a bit of imagination, into beautiful subtle techno ballads. Always with their own story to tell, while never losing his focus on the drive and ready to bring audiences around the globe into a trance.

Orlando Voorn’s alias Format keeps the energy high with but smooths out the ride for the remix of the original, where bumpy synths bubble and echo, keeping you interested until the very last second. 

Remixing the last track is label owner KI/KI unleashing her first music into the world. Her remix are inspired by '90s rave memories which she never got to experience. Creating a completely different atmosphere with bubbly off beat bass, anthemic arps and a clever use of arrangement making this a standout remix.

Amsterdam based DJ, producer and label owner KI/KI releases her long awaited debut EP on her own slash imprint. The highly anticipated anthem 'Leave it to the vibe' is doing rounds in her DJ sets for over two years now and made a big impact on her notorious Boiler Room performance during AVA Festival back in 2021. Finally, two years later she found the right time and place for it and it's getting a well deserved release on her fast growing slash label.

On slash004 KI/KI reworks the original in three different ways. The original perfectly shows where KI/KI flourishes at the moment, it's a fast-paced high energy dancefloor anthem with a nostalgic deep trance drift using her own vocals incorporated in hypnotic loops. For the reworks on the b-side she stripped down the original into two new versions. Where 'To the vibe (rework)' highlights a subtle twinkle that illuminates the beauty of melodies, 'Leave it to the drums' could be seen as the dub version capturing an impeccable energy that represents the late night, strobo heavy warehouse energy where KI/KI finds her comfort zone.

When Mauro Picotto&#8217;s enormous New Time New Place landed in 2003, it came as one of the pioneering Italian techno producer&#8217;s most stunning tracks yet. 10 years on and it still sounds incredibly fresh and unlike any other track, fizzing with rampant synth energy, thumping beats and delightfully warped, ultra-melodic riffs. It&#8217;s lost none of its charisma or power over time, and still does the damage on a contemporary dancefloor. Great Stuff are bringing back this classic for a new generation, along with three immense remixes.

Dosem comes fresh from big releases for the likes of Intec Digital armed with an absolutely killer groove, laden with chugging sub bass and bouncy percussion. He teases the original&#8217;s soaring chord progression in and out of focus, making for a tensely contrasted version.

Holland&#8217;s Egbert goes heavy on the cowbell and makes the most out of the original&#8217;s manifold refrains, extracting the maximum energy from the sounds therein and fusing them to a funk-fuelled groove that fans of Joris Voorn will likely appreciate. His remix builds pleasingly, utilising the original&#8217;s parts in gradual fashion to reach a fever pitch.

Gary Beck has other ideas, however. He loops the riffs into submission, slowly building a steamroller of a groove that&#8217;s got pace and lots of classic techno weight. The cymbal rides are tough, the bass is murky and dark, and it&#8217;s one for those who likes things tough and heads-down.
