This composition was inspired by a daughter of a friend who, while on a recent visit to me in my PA writing studio, dumped baby powder into the bell of my saxophone when I left the room. Without hesitation, I played and recorded the entire melody of this piece as a complete improvisation in one take. Afterwards, I harmonized the progression and added alternate themes and counter voices. During the recording process, baby powder blew out of my instrument and went everywhere, much to the delight of the 3 year old girl who innocently and inadvertently inspired a new piece. The composition is complete and yet, I'm still discovering baby powder in the most inordinate of locations.
