Fuck the neighbours, I couldn't be bothered. You know what I always say, yeah, you know me. And I've come to know a little 'bout you. Like when you touch those strings and the groove breaks loose. Kyle Craft - Before the Wall

I decided not to screw around here and write my bio in the first person... Makes sense, right?

It all started with my mate Shaun Bruce and our weekly date to drink beer and jam guitar. About a year and a half later we were in a band together. Your Lost Dog. We rocked hard, ripping out alternative and punk songs with the occasional ballad. We also didn't last much more than a year before my shit got in the way and split the band up. 

From the demise of YLD, Solid Borne Noise was eventually born. With my girlfriend at the time, Zoe, on drums and the original YLD bassist, MC, on bass, we continued on the road of alternative punk (with the occasional ballad). Don't remember why that ended, but it did. Was fly while it lasted though.

The next part was a highlight; Skin & Bones... Zoe and I carried on as a two piece, guitars, drums and vocals, and we were brutal. It was naked, raw, hard punk. No frills and nothing cute about it. We wanted to kill shit and we did. That also ended, well when it ended.

After a weekend of loads of beer and listening to Johnny Cash, I wrote my first song on the acoustic guitar actually meant to be acoustic; I Don't Weep Anymore. As it goes I thought, where am I going to play this? And so started my acoustic career. 

Unfortunately I have to be honest, I truly in every form sucked. I'd like to think I have grown and improved. I recruited a mate, Vince, as lead guitarist and we jammed some gigs. Eventually Paul joined and we had three guitars... and jammed some more gigs. Some percussion and harmonica came in aaaand then that ended. Again I was left jamming some solo shows (poorly).

Along came Wiehann Geldenhuys with his rather impressive background and years of experience. We banged out some amazing songs, shows and a tour with Karla Valentine, over the span of about two years. The ever-eager musician he is, Paul joined us on bass and it was fly. 

Alas, Wiehann quit and my heart was broken like the empty bottle your daddy threw at you, but Paul and I carried on for a while. (We still jam together when we can)

At this stage my songwriting, voice and guitar playing have developed into a thing of satisfaction and confidence. I started writing songs for one guitar and one voice; mine. And I'm digging it. 

I draw influence and inspiration from many sources. From Johnny Cash to The White Stripes and my last couple of songs, The Gasslight Anthem and Jan Blohm. Joy Division is a constant reference for what I want from a song; the freedom of simplicity carried by storytelling and melody. In the end, no matter what I attempt with a song, I still end up writing punk songs. Most of my tracks can be broken up into Ramones structure.
