London has a lot of soul. Unbeknown to many, there's a brimming school of young artists striding in the footprints left by the likes of Omar, Sade and other seasoned, UK neo-soul veterans. Ego Ella May is one of the most promising graduates, endorsed by Mr. "There's Nothing Like This" and strapped with a growing discography that now includes the Zero EP. Released earlier this month, it's three songs of cocoa butter smooth R&B with plenty of Ego's vocal prowess moisturised across it.

MNDSGN massages his own charm into the remix of "Tea & Sympathy" - a tale about sorry being the hardest way. Out goes the South American shuffle of the Budgie-produced original, and in comes ample amounts of Sunday morning chill courtesy of a sauntering organ melody.

These were our internal working titles anyway. In the end, it's a big compilation with 21 artists that we don't want to pigeonhole, because it's a big zoo! Welcome to this new RISE Breathwork journey — a 24-minute practice designed to shift your state of being into clarity and connection. Across four powerful breathing cycles, you’ll be guided to release distractions, clear your mind, and reconnect with yourself on a deeper level. Through the rhythm of breath and music, you’ll experience how quickly you can shift your inner-state.

Your guide: Joep Mencke — breathwork facilitator, DJ, and music producer — has led sessions across the globe for the past three years. His mission is to make transformation accessible and help you integrate breathwork into your daily life. In this practice, you’ll move through cycles of conscious connected breathing, gentle retentions, and moments of stillness, all supported by an original soundtrack composed by Joep. The music blends grounding textures, expansive harmonies, and immersive layers to carry you deeper into clarity and connection.

What to expect in this session:
• 24-minute guided breathwork journey
• Four cycles designed to clear the mind and reconnect with self
• Original music and soundscapes by Joep Mencke
• A balance of activation and integration
• Accessible to all levels — no prior experience required

Wearing headphones is a must — they help you stay in your own bubble and fully immerse without distractions from your environment

Can be done sitting or lying down in a comfortable, undisturbed space

Breathwork Instructions

This is a connected breath practice — no pause between inhale and exhale.
 • Inhale: Belly & chest expand
 • Exhale: Belly & chest fall
 • Breathing in: Mouth (more powerful) or nose (gentler)
 • Breathing out: Mouth
 • Each cycle includes dynamic breathing followed by two retentions (~45 sec after exhale, then ~45 sec after inhale).
 • You may feel tingling, changes in temperature, or mild muscle tension — these are normal effects of breathwork.
 • If overwhelmed, return to gentle breathing in and out through the nose.
 • Always listen to your body and never force anything.

If you have a history of psychosis or epileptic seizures, this practice is not for you.

If you are currently pregnant, please listen closely to your body. Only participate if it feels right for you — and do not perform or hold any of the breath retentions.

If in doubt, consult your physician.
