“What is the Meaning” by P.I.X.E.L is a song that tells the story of my interactions with life, talks about our oldest question: “Why?” - “Why are we born?”; “Why die?”; “Why Do we feel?”; Why?”… it’s a dialogue I’m having with the life I’m living, asking her to be kinder, to know that I would love to be friends, and act together, not against each other.

Usually I don't listen to my set recordings, but this year as I was on my home from Wonderfruit I decided to give my recording from 2022 a listen and it quickly became apparent to me that... it's a banger.  It weaves together several riyoon eras. It revisits my very first live set ever at Jai Thep 2018, going to pre-thailand riyoon (2015-2017) and modern riyoon 2020+. Oldskool listeners will recognise old stories woven into currents affairs.

To prepare for this gig Polygon flew me out to London a month before the gig to the L-Acoustics UK studio. Davey and the Matts helped me map individual tracks from my live set to the Polygon's system, which then allows the sound engineers to take individual sounds and send them into the spatial 360 sound system as I'm playing live.

It was a crazy process, but hearing my tracks come alive in 3d space with help of talented engineers was worth it, even if just for that one gig.
Since I first saw Polygon in 2018, it has been a little dream of mine to play it and that dream has come to life. I'm feeling incredibly grateful to be able to share my creations on increasingly advanced sound systems, letting me touch people's hearts in more ways than I ever thought I could. May we have more opportunities to feel and heal each other, through music, art, movement. May we have another magical dance around the sun in 2025. Wherever you might be.

Riyoon at Wonderfruit | Polygon | Stereo Render

London has a lot of soul. Unbeknown to many, there's a brimming school of young artists striding in the footprints left by the likes of Omar, Sade and other seasoned, UK neo-soul veterans. Ego Ella May is one of the most promising graduates, endorsed by Mr. "There's Nothing Like This" and strapped with a growing discography that now includes the Zero EP. Released earlier this month, it's three songs of cocoa butter smooth R&B with plenty of Ego's vocal prowess moisturised across it.

MNDSGN massages his own charm into the remix of "Tea & Sympathy" - a tale about sorry being the hardest way. Out goes the South American shuffle of the Budgie-produced original, and in comes ample amounts of Sunday morning chill courtesy of a sauntering organ melody.
