Recorded live at Bristol’s Strange Brew, this mix finds Black Merlin drifting through deep, hypnotic techno with a dark, enveloping touch. Rolling rhythms and psychedelic atmospheres gradually take hold, guiding the room into a deep, late-night trance.

We’re delighted to share a true collectors item of a mix; a 7 hour b2b from Jane Fitz & Carl H, recorded at Transmissions in Studio 94, London in December 2021.

Some live recordings need to be put out quickly before the music ages and the records become overplayed, but not this one. It could be from any time over the years as timeless-tune-after-sought-after-banger are built and blended with the kind of precision and flow that can only come from DJ’s like Jane and Carl. 

From the low-slung start spanning EBM and downtempo gems through to the tunnelling psychedelic crescendo, this is a true masterclass in how to build and pace a set… and it sounds just as incredible today as it did on the night.

Romi, Solstice Celebration Mix

Plena Sound is a sound practitioner and DJ who approaches music as something sacred -  a language capable of communicating in otherworldly ways and invoking a deep sense of awe. She believes that sound can act as a portal, opening pathways to richer connection with ourselves and with those around us.
 
Shaped by electronic music from an early age, and heavily influenced by the spirit of rave culture, her sets are guided by a lifelong devotion to the dancefloor. She gravitates towards journeys that move fluidly between ambient, techno and electro, exploring both the lighter and darker contours of electronic music. Her aim is always to lead the listener through the most interesting terrains.
 
For this mix, Plena Sound dives into the transportive world of electro, offering unearthly textures, broken beats and a distinctive sense of cosmic wonder. Expect acid-flecked basslines and an atmospheric palette that moves with a slightly more upbeat, dancefloor-ready energy than her previous Vela Pulsar episode. The mix unfolds like a tapestry of sounds, layered with textures that feel both familiar and otherworldly.
