Timbre+ Eastside

Forget me by Lewis Capaldi performed by one of Timbre's rostered bands, The Elastic Band! The Elastic Band plays every Sunday evening and while they're usually a 4 piece acoustic band, they gave the audience who came down to celebrate Deepavali/Diwali at Timbre+ Eastside by coming as a full band with bass, keyboards and drums. 

Their entire performance was mixed on a Behringer X32 and sounded great with the house system, in my opinion. Because of that, I decided to record it! I hope the mix translated well in the recording.

Viva La Vida by Coldplay performed by one of Timbre's rostered bands, The Elastic Band! The Elastic Band plays every Sunday evening and while they're usually a 4 piece acoustic band, they gave the audience who came down to celebrate Deepavali/Diwali at Timbre+ Eastside by coming as a full band with bass, keyboards and drums. 

Their entire performance was mixed on a Behringer X32 and sounded great with the house system, in my opinion. Because of that, I decided to record it! I hope the mix translated well in the recording.

Hotel California by The Eagles performed by Rock Revival
At Timbre+ Eastside once again! Tonight's band is new to Timbre and it is made of mostly veterans in Singapore's classic rock scene. Though not heard in this recording, they ran into troubles while trying to acquaint themselves to Timbre's stage. Mostly technical and technological issues. However, they put their decades worth of experience when they still manage to engage and interact with their audience while troubleshooting or fixing issues.

They are new to Timbre as I am new to them as well. I am not entirely pleased with my mix, but I decided to add it in the uploads to not only have it for reference for the future but to get feedback too! Let me know how I could improve!

Don't Stop Believin' by Journey performed by Nation One.
Timbre+ One-North
Today's action took place at a new venue! At least, new to those of you who had tuned in before! I can't say in too familiar with the place acoustically. I've only ever mixed a handful of times, but nonetheless,  it did not pose too big of the challenge. While I am happy with the mix I gave in the venue, I was not entirely satisfied with how the recording sounds. The drums sounded pretty sweet live, but listening back to the recording, the drums kinda flew away simply because I did not need much drums in the overall mix. I would say that the drummer today was exceptional! There was no need for much drums in the live mix because he hits the drums so loudly - all while not sacrificing dynamics. Mixing his playing live was such a breeze. Of course, all these are literally just excuses. Always working and learning to be better. Let me know in the comments on how I can improve in the future!

Overall, great and amazing sounding live band. I heard that tonight may be their final performance on that stage and I'm honored to be a part of their farewell gig at Timbre+ One-North.

Set Fire to the Rain by Adele performed by Rock Revival!

its been a while since I've posted a recording but Im glad to be posting again! As usual, its always an occasion at Timbre+ Eastside every Sunday evening and it'll be such a waste not to record the amazing performance, brought to you by Rock Revival! There is so much to love about this band! The vocalist did so great despite feeling under the weather with a sore throat. Also check out the blazing fast guitar solo that elevated an already-amazing song and the whole vibe was pretty great!

Hui Fut Tin Hung by Beyond performed by Rock Revival, but this time featuring a singer from the audience!

This band is not only versatile in the type of rock they play, but also in the language they sing in! Not opposed to having fun on stage, they included a loyal member of the audience, Mr Mohd Noor Ismail.
Many have tried but it is almost impossible to masterfully bring out the spirit of this legendary Cantonese song. That said, nothing is ever too difficult for Rock Revival - Just listen to the crowd! 

Mixed and recorded on a Behringer X32. Not sure where that horrendous buzzing is coming from but I could not - for the life of me - figure out where its coming from so i just accepted it.
