"I first encountered Toru upon exiting a Tokyo DJ booth one evening. He was waiting patiently to pass me a CD of his work along with a polite, hand-written note. The tracks had a uniqueness and an appealing futuristic feel, and thus a few of them became regular fixtures in my DJ sets" - Ø Phase

It was through this initial exposure that Japanese native Toru Katsuta came also to the attention of Charlie M Duff (AKA Matrixxman) and his music gained further broadcasting

(featuring in various podcasts and DJ performances). This eventually lead to an invitation in 2021 to remix for the also up-and-coming Alarico on Matrixxman's The Grid label.

4 dance floor cuts bookended by 2 sci-fi excursions, "Phenomena" EP represents a long overdue showcase of Mr Katsuta's futuristic sound.

Amniote Editions teams up with Mala Junta to release “The Collective Capsule” in celebration of 5th anniversary of Berlin’s favourite queer event.

“The Collective Capsule” is a celebration and tribute to the unique Mala Junta and it’s impact on Berlin’s vibrant contemporary queer scene as well as a reflection of the core principles of these two collectives, which serve as a mirror for the society we want to push forward.

The package features a 12″ vinyl record composed of 4 tracks from Mala Junta’s residents Hyperaktivist, Yazzus, DJ Tool, and D.Dan, as well as two compilations featuring Roza Terenzi, Jensen Interceptor, Mohajer, Peachlyfe, Francois X, Narciss to name a few..

The Collective Capsule Compilation Vol. 1 emerges on Amniote Editions on 23rd June.

British tour de force Rene Wise is an exciting talent synonymous with hair-raising and hard-nosed techno. A name that’s been confidently claiming its stake in common lexicon with a passion for polyrhythms, forward-looking frequencies and kaleidoscopic beats. It’s the mind-expanding potential of his favourite genre that forms the basis of his new vinyl release on BASSIANI Records. Drawing on personal experiences of the psychedelic sort, he also cites the role of atmosphere and spatial configuration in the making of his sound, in his own words: ‘the space that the music is presented in, is hugely important and there are some very unique and special spaces in the world that capture the true essence of how techno music should be experienced. BASSIANI is one of these places.’ Well that praise goes both ways, it’s hard to imagine a more fitting EP for the club. This four track release is both an homage to the BASSIANI floor and a powerful dive into a trippy realm of techno Wise has spent his years as a musician diligently exploring. A third eye journey across oscillating soundscapes and sonic horizons from the trailblazing techno wunderkind.

“Les Somnolentes” album, also known as “The Sleepy Ones,” marks the artist’s reemergence on the Mord label, following an acclaimed double LP “Les Malicieuses”. In perfect alignment with its title, the album surpasses the confines of traditional techno, pioneering a novel auditory trajectory.  Quelza’s distinctive sound creation and skilled production combine elements of breakbeat, IDM, and ambient music with pulsating, vibrant, and captivating techno sounds.

Crafted in early 2022, this collection of 11 tracks stands as a segment of a series of 30 compositions meticulously curated by the burgeoning French talent—a bold stride towards his inaugural album.
Challenging his creative bounds, he embarked on an audacious mission to stretch the horizons of his sonic realm within the expansive canvas of a full-length production. This endeavour led him to traverse the realms of cinematic soundscapes, liberating himself from the confines of the conventional ‘club-optimized’ structure. 

“Les Somnolentes” encapsulates a phase of introspection and uncertainty for the artist, a moment of contemplation about the contours of his musical identity and forthcoming releases. Deliberately deferred, the release underwent a time-tested trial, affirming the artist’s notion of paring down his output, redirecting his focus towards substantial undertakings with resounding artistic reverberations.

No VR set needed, Caldera follows the chant of the sirens and the shamanic incantations but never directly references them: a psychoactive journey without the psychedelics. Caldera’s 5D Worlds is a hyperreal ride, from his signature dubby grooves to his lesser known Tech-Trance whopper fantasies – As the BPM evolves, the sound designs morph and the gentle percussion give way to sonar-like synths and binary rhythms. Are you finally hearing the sirens ? Good, you have arrived at your destination.

Slam presents a brand new series of carefully curated VA’s on home label Soma.

Aimed at showcasing exciting, emerging artists "Exhibit" aims to channel techno's fundamental frequencies as Slam seek out the rawer, deeper end of the spectrum with selected artists, focussing on the deeper and hypnotic sound of techno.

Packing in 8 tracks across this first release, Slam open with title track ‘Exhibit 1’ a deep, sub heavy and electrifying roller. Newcomers Mist Gasp are up next with the suitably trippy Final Return followed by the pairing of Confluence & Von Tee Rah who pack in a lot of attitude with Unit 1. Brazilian producer Marcal steps up with the groove laden Tombstone, quickly followed by Berlin’s Denise Rabe who treads a darker path with the driving, Walking On Borders. Another Berlin based pairing, Angioma & BLANKA, serve up the crafty Tricky Sunday before James Bong drops the fast paced yet minimalistic and melodic Roses 101. Closing out the release is Glasgow based producer Tremor who has been making waves in his home city with his on point, minimal sound and his track, A Moment, sums ups his style perfectly.
