Originally spoken at the Convention of the American Federation of Arts in Houston, Texas, April of 1957. This is a reading of a short text Duchamp wrote titled The Creative Act. 

Some time later Aspen Magazine recorded Duchamp reading the text. This recording is now available as part of a compilation of audio based Duchamp readings and interviews.
