Luigi Madonna's new record label Contempo revisits its previous releases with new remixes by Alarico, Lobster and Regent.

Contempo's releases have been focused on Luigi Madonna's original music, which has become darker and more driving as his sound continues to evolve.

Each of the three remixers on this release is an artist that Luigi Madonna has been supporting in his recent DJ sets and they were hand-picked to select a track from the Contempo catalogue to rework.

The first of the remixes comes from Italy's Alarico whose music and remixes can be found on other imprints such as Kr!z's Token, Pfirter's MindTrip and ANAOH.

Lobster is a Dutch artist who is a resident at Vault Sessions in Amsterdam where he regularly plays alongside people ranging from Setaoc Mass to Luke Slater. He is also a skilled producer who has dropped tracks on OECUS, Warok Music and Ketch's SYXT.

Regent is a German artist from Berlin who has been making waves with appearances on prestigious record labels such as Emmanuel's ARTS and Planet Rhythm.

Alarico opens with the raw machine funk of his "CNTMP 3.01" rework before the dystopian hypnotics of Lobster's "CNTMP 3.02" stripped remix. Regent closes the release with the building tension and brutal percussion of his "CNTMP 2.02" remix.

May 2014, the first release on Amsterdam imprint Format appeared. It was Amsterdam techno figurehead Juan Sanchez under his JSSL guise. Since then, he pushed an enormous amount of local techno talent alongside an impressive list of icons such as Mike Parker, Matrixxman, Truncate and many more. Over the span of almost 30 releases Sanchez has created his own vibrant world of hard hitting, deep tripping techno and he plans on keep doing so. 

For FR029 he invited rising techno star Lobster for a fresh collab EP. The Hague-based producer makes big moves representing Vault Sessions and his DJ appearances around the world. Here he joins Juan Sanchez for his Format label debut in the form of the Hybris Crux EP where both producers present their latest take on rolling techno including a rework of each other's tracks. It's a strong representation of what Format is about and how it keeps dancefloors moving with its excellent energetic style of pure techno.

"The Collective VA Vol.1" is  showcasing tracks from Alessandro Grops, Fvndo, Vxlr, and SYM. Alessandro Grops evolved from minimal sounds to a distinct techno style, earning acclaim from industry leaders. Fvndo, who is no longer a stranger on Contempo's radar after his "Reasoning" EP, showcasing a unique sound that resonates deeply with techno enthusiasts. Andreas Wechsler, known by his stage name Vxlr, hails from Berlin and has carved a niche for himself in the techno scene with his innovative soundscapes and compelling productions. SYM, a Techno DJ and producer from Barcelona, blends heavy grooves with dark sequences and house influences, continually evolving his sound beyond the 90s styles that first inspired him.

Opening the VA is Alessandro Grops who delivers "Depulso," a track that combines driving beats with an immersive Dark atmospheric Sound that creates a captivating journey. Fvndo's "Stimulation" offers a rhythmic exploration with pulsating basslines and intricate synth work, designed to energize and engage. Vxlr's "Side Chick" features a darker, groove-oriented sound with deep, growling bass and hypnotic rhythms. Lastly, SYM's "Raw Vibes" lives up to its name with raw, unfiltered energy, fast and spontaneous rhythmic shifts, making it a standout for techno purists.
