I bring you DRBCHILLERS a new series dedicated to the more downtempo, easy listening, sunny afternoon side of things. This kind of music has played a big part of soundtracking my life from growing up on the likes of Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz series to Josh Tweek's delightful MMSU podcasts. I wanted to throw my hat in the ring and curate a collection of selections to compliment the chilled times in life. 

Kicking things off we have our good friend and digger extraordinaire Flavio Matafora aka Albion Street Music. I first met Flavio when playing a Texture Summit party in San Fran some years ago, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go for a dig at his place and the rest is history. He was born and raised in Miercurea Ciuc, and his passion for music goes a long way. His style is truly unique, playing from progressive techno to minimal trance and dark electro. His sets are the result of great selection, a wonderful ear, and strong technique. His way of expressing his thoughts and feelings is through music, and you can definitely hear that. The underground there carries its own mystique, a tension between coastline stillness and late night intensity, something you feel before you can explain.

A member of TES and VODKAST, he is known for deep and hypnotic house and techno with a spooky acid driven touch. His releases on Avoidant under Soma Records, Phyzikal and Bunker Bliss sketch out the borders of his sonic world.

Earning his sonic stripes in the triangle of sound, from Bassiani in Tbilisi to Reflector in Kutaisi and Harbor in Batumi, he moves through these coordinates with intention, but the gravity always returns to the coast.

I found his signal while digging, before the name, before the story. Pure instinct.
