The Lagoon drifts in warm and nocturnal — hand-percussion and shakers sketch a tide while muted guitar and marimba/kalimba plucks ripple on top. A rubbery sub and rounded kick keep it deep; airy vocal ad-libs glow like lights along the waterline. At 120 BPM in B minor, it’s smooth, hypnotic, and radio-ready: a clean first drop, a breezy mid-break with call-and-response leads, then a fuller second chorus that lifts without crowding the mix. Here's the recording for my DJ set from July 2nd, 2017 at the Katerblau Kiosk, hands down my favorite place to play music in Berlin.  The whole venue is a wonderland of discovery, the staff is extremely kind and hospitable, and I don't think I've played for a more open minded crowd in all of Europe. Longer sets allows you to take your time and be patient with the music, and the mixing.  The slow building journey I had imagined in my mind, was possible to make a reality, and extra time allowed me to experiment as well. This was probably my favorite gig of my entire 2 month Summer Sol Europe Tour. I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I had creating it in the Kiosk.  Thanks to Mira, Britta, Martin, Claudia, Joyce, David, Brett, Toto, Sylvie, Dorin, any other friends I may have forgotten who were there, and especially to all you lovely dancers who joined me on this ride.
