As ondas do nosso próximo Altercast vem direto de Buenos Aires, Argentina. O DJ e pesquisador Pabels ganhou reconhecimento pelos seus mixes no canal americano La Tropical, ganhando um verdadeiro cult following e recebendo centenas de milhares de streams. House, Disco, Balearic, Afrobeat, Soul, Hip Hop e além fazem parte da pesquisa do DJ, que já tocou em clubs e festas tão reconhecidos como Output (NY),  Calvi On The Rocks (Corsica, FR), Pikes (Ibiza, ES), Le Bain (NYC), Bordeaux Open Air (FR), Claire Amsterdam (NL), entre vários outros.

Through his impressive skills as both a crate-digger and a DJ, @pabels (Buenos Aires, 24 years old) has already played at some of the most notable venues in Europe and the US including Output (NYC), Calvi On The Rocks (Corsica, FR), Pikes (Ibiza, ES), Le Bain (NYC), Bordeaux Open Air (FR), Claire Amsterdam (NL) and Corona Sunsets (Mamaia, Buenos Aires and Montevideo), and has shared the booth with renowned artists such as Late Nite Tuff Guy, David Vunk, DJ Assault, Philou Louzolo, Goldroom, Bon Entendeur and Sassy J, amongst others.
His 'Day Mixes' curated for La Tropicál (US) have garnered a cult following and have largely attributed to his growing success in the international scene; having received hundreds of thousands of plays on various platforms, including SoundCloud. Combining a unique mixture of genres and styles:
House, Disco, Balearic, Afrobeat, Soul and Hip Hop, Pabels has mastered the perfect soundtrack for the summer.

Hola a todxs!! So happy to be back to Brasil after my amazing first experience playing at Mareh last year. In this stay in Sao Paulo, I had the pleasure to play at @garagedisco which was one for the books, and I'm happy to have shared such a special night with this amazing crew. Apart from also playing at Exotica Dance Club with my good friend @kurc and Caracol Bar. Fell in love with this incredible city.

Luckily, the guys from Garage Disco recorded my set, so here it is! 

Some good old classics and some new stuff too, made up for a great and sweaty night ender. Real vibe and big smiles on everyone's faces <3

Finally! The live recording of such a beautiful night/sunrise we spent in Atlixco, Mexico, with the Amores Experience family celebratin Dia de los Muertos in a magic way. So happy to have performed there, the energy was surreal, from the venue, to the people, to the other artists. It's been definitely one of the highlights of my Mexico tour and even my whole year. Music is a bit upbeat, but the context definitely allowed it.

Despite the appearance of cohesiveness of this vast and diverse territory, what is commonly known as “Latin America” can hardly be characterised by any measure of uniformity or even be considered a unity. Granted that these stable continental blocks that manage to gather a multitude of regional identities and encompass myriad natural landscapes are abstractions that end up being insufficient to help us grasp the cultural intricacies that make up the region. Take Brazil and Argentina, two of the largest nations in the continent that happen to be neighbours, and consider how their respective musical scenes run apart from each other, regardless of the similarities they keep. This distancing is an odd trait of an otherwise prolific relationship - football rivalries included - that is constantly defied by some dedicated efforts, such as what we strive to realise here and elsewhere, alongside committed artists, such as the talent we have as our guest for this episode. Pabels’s presence and persona, behind and beyond the decks, encapsulate any porteno’s relationship with music: deeply devoted to the selection, fiercely focussed on the technique and heartily engaged with the vibe. All the elements required for that alchemic process in which an ordinary mix is turned into an alluring narrative that can take us anywhere.

PABELS Live @ Le Bain, NYC - 12/04/19

Hey everybody! I found this recording from my set recorded live in Calvi On The Rocks on 09/07/2019. This is just a slice at the beginning of what was the excellent party at In Casa inside of the festival, headlined by my friends Bon Entendeur, who I want to thank for inviting me. Playing under the sun in the beautiful Calvi is one of the best things I experienced this year.

I hope this is a good soundtrack for the end of the summer. I also want to apologize for the lack of Day Mixes in the past months. It's been hectic and I will make it up to you all!

Pabels: 'Hey friends from the world! I'm happy to announce the return of my Day Mix series with a new collaboration with Gazzz696, one of my favourite YouTube channels, so you can also stream this episode there apart from here and Spotify. Also, enjoy their great selection of disco edits, house and more.

These are really weird and life changing times so I tried my best to share bliss and joy through music once again. As many of you may know, I put a lot of work to bring the best in sunny balearic music to light for your listening pleasure. So, take your time, and enjoy it as much as I do: sit down, dance with your quarantine partners or have a drink. The sun still sets every day ;)

As for my touring situation, summer in Europe is still on, although we'll have to wait and see if it's viable to travel and play again. I'll keep you posted in my Instagram page, where I post all of my dates. In the meantime, I'll stay home enjoying this time off digging for music and working on more Day Mixes and Bondi Bondi releases.
