Prinze, the founder of Epicure Records, returns with a new EP that once again showcases his mastery of the diverse facets of electronic music, ranging from acid to italo, and encompassing house, trance, and even breakbeat.   Crafted largely during his journey in Guadeloupe, this EP of 6 original tracks captures the essence of the island with every beat.   

"Sex Wax" immerses you in a captivating prog house journey, punctuated by intoxicating piano notes. Inspired by the island's waves, this track evokes surfing through its various phases, from the initial paddle to the euphoria of the take-off set against italo sounds.  "High Energy" is a true ode to acid, whisking you away on a rhythmic whirlwind where each moment brings a new surprise, from start to finish.  

"Gwadacid," born from a jungle excursion, is an immersion in layers of acid, inviting listeners on a psychedelic journey without the need for altering substances. 

 To elevate the EP to even greater heights, Prinze enlisted the expertise of three esteemed remixers :   Zaratustra, the Parisian, injects frenetic energy into his rave remix of "Sex Wax", poised to electrify dancefloors until the early hours.  Fausto, the boss of Hypnotic sounds from Sinaloa, delivers a spellbinding rendition of "High Energy," infusing it with a hypnotic allure tailored for discerning club-goers.  Finally, Austher, one of the pillars of the Toulouse Scene, brings his Italo body music touch to "Gwadacid," satisfying fans of the genre and concluding the affair with style.   Epicureans from everywhere, let's take a ride together !

After multiple releases under the alias Amarcord, Marco Catapano graces the dancefloors with his most recent project Supermarc. Fusing rapid-fire rhythms and Italian trance, the producer, DJ and live artist presents a catchy two-tracker, Body Moving. The eponymous track is a euphoric trance weapon, featuring a bouncy bassline that acts as a backbone to the tune. Along with nostalgia-inducing synths, a magnetic voice sample commands the listener: keep your body moving. And makes it impossible to disobey. On All Systems, the sun has set, and heat is rising on the dancefloor. Supermarc guides us on a darker path, with entrancing layered synths and voices, driven by a solid kick. “When I started to work on this track, I could not envision how it would turn out, I was just making it, bit by bit. After doing the first beats, I made the bassline using Reaktor. The sound and the sequence reminded me a bit of the old school stuff from The Hacker and David Carreta and the idea of inviting Kittin to do the vocals came to mind. She said she loved the track and she was gonna do the vocals and the result could not be better. I am a huuuge fan of hers going back many years and I have a lot of her records from when I started playing, right through to her recent productions. I remember when she went to Brazil about 15 years ago to play at one of the most loved clubs there at the time called Lov.e. I could not be there but I saw her on TV when she gave an interview on one of the country’s biggest channels. I vividly remember calling all my family to see it – I felt a huge admiration for her, her music, her style and everything about her. And I still do! I was a 17-year-old living in the Brazilian countryside at the time watching one of my idols on TV and could never have imagined that one day we would be doing a track together. Life is so unpredictable and this is a beautiful gift that music gave me.” - ANNA

A collaboration between Items & Things label boss Marc Houle and Grenoble born techno/electro legend Miss Kittin, IT022 sees the release of “Where is Kittin?” a six track EP featuring two original tracks, as well as remixes from Dubfire, John Foxx & the Maths, and two further edits from Miss Kittin herself.

Building on the disco-not-disco, industrial and new wave influences of Houleʼs recent Items & Things long-player “Undercover”, the two originals on “Where is Kittin?” demonstrate the wide-ranging influences and potent pairing of the production duo: the title track a jagged hybrid of Houleʼs signature style and Kittinʼs deadpan vocal talent. In sharp contrast, A2 track “Black Star” presents an equally driven, yet slightly more ambient affair: its haunting synth lines, detuned claps and granular vocals a poignant reminder of the pairʼs production abilities both on and off the dancefloor.

High profile remix duties come from Sci+Tec Techno mastermind Dubfire, as well as John Foxx & The Maths: a recently formed musical project featuring electronic music pioneers John Foxx and modular synth experimentalist Benge. Dubfire furthers the main room potential of the EPʼs title track, with John Foxx & The Maths bringing the male vocal line to the forefront, turning the track into a roaring techno/electro-pop live hybrid.

With “Where is Kittin?” also acting as a succinct accompaniment to Miss Kittinʼs double album “Calling From the Stars”, out on 22nd of April via wSphere/Wagram, Kittin appropriately rounds off the package with a further two of her own edits, a pair of eloquently stripped-down digitally exclusive versions of the EPʼs two title tracks.
