Just in time for New York's grand re-opening, Brooklyn-based promotion Short Circuit launches its debut VA, with four outstanding underground tracks. Fresh off of events headlined by heavyweights Jamie Jones, Green Velvet and Loco Dice, the Short Circuit team has spun its events focused success into a label to look out for.

Leading off is established UK producer Parsec with "Sequencing". A groove forward yet driving deep tech track, Sequencing is already a mainstay at Short Circuit parties in New York and Miami.

Next up is a raw cut by Short Circuit co-founder Jeff Sorkowitz and original team member branca. Dark and underground, this one is sure to hit hard at the afterparty.

UK live act James Orvis then brings the energy through his driving techno track 'Let You Know'. This one is sure to light up the peak hours.

Finally, back to Short Circuit's minimal roots, James Wyler serves up the final track on this VA, 'Functional Frequency', featuring a chord-driven, hypnotic groove.

The Short Circuit team's dark ethos shines through with these dubby yet club-ready cuts. Stay tuned as this team meticulously curates future releases to match their underground events.

Daan comes from a very musical family and has been making music since the day he was born. At a young age he started playing the guitar and piano, learning this from his dad who made him start with the hardest chords and progressions, with the idea that he will be able to play so hereafter without any effort. This was the start of his passion for playing and making music. In his youth he often performed with his dad on Ibiza at bars and cafes, all this together with a large group of musicians from all over the world, whom they met there every summer. Later he made the switch to producing house music, what he is doing over the past three years now.

He describes his style as sample based house music with influences from different styles like Funk, Jazz, Soul & Rock music. He gets inspired from artists like: Inland Knights, Anotr, Phill Weeks and many other artists who have released music on labels like Robsoul and Dropmusic.

Also Daan has been busy composing music for movies for a long time, he ha been working on a documentary. In this you are going to hear a totally different side of Daan, a side that strongly developed in his youth! You will hear more about this soon.

We are more than delighted to Have Daan Steenman on Airtime for a solo EP called ‘Ecstasy’. 3 groovy house tracks with a remix by Jamback who adds his own signature sound to the record.

As summer heats up so does Andhera Records with a massive new release, Just a Line EP, by Sunday Noise and Paul Trelles, which comes with exquisite remixes from Mihai Popoviciu and Mallin.

Sunday Noise and Paul Trelles hail from Peru, and are forefront of the scene in Lima. Between them they’ve released on credible labels like Rawsome, Tobus Limited, Distance, Miaw and Whoyostro. 

The first track on the EP is Just a Line, where tripped out vocal incidentals combine with eerily treated vocals, layered on swirling atmospherics creating an edgy late night deep and hypnotic flavour. Next up is, You Hear That, with its shuffling highs, bouncing bassline combining with the atmospherics and effortless arrangement this is absolute groover. 

The third track on the EP is Mihai Popoviciu’s remix. Popovicui is well known from his huge releases on Poker Flat, Get Physical, Bedrock, Dessous, Bondage Music and his own label Cyclic imprint, and his inimitable style has arrived on Andhera. His remix is as you would expect from him, smooth, deep, and excellently executed. With a rolling bass, and filtered pads pushed into the background, this grows in a crescendo throughout the track to where the uplifting chords drop, and smiles rise, make no mistake this is a sublime remix.

The last track on the EP is Mallin’s remix of You Hear That. Mallin’s profile has been rising the last few years via string of hot releases on labels like Glasgow Underground, Inermu, and Oh Stockholm. For his remix he delivers a sensual deep number adding a melodic and uplifting touch to the original, with a delicate short sax sample to really give this an excellent end of the night feel.

This is an absolute must have release on the fast rising Brooklyn imprint, Andhera Records, and something you’ll definitely be hearing all summer long on the underground floors of the world.
