"Praying Mantis" is such a misleading name for this bug recreated in music. Just the idea, of an spiritual being overcoming issues, was so ideoneous.

This was our first attempt to create, music without boundaires,  music without bugs, despite life is full of them.

A Mantis with Issues

This song was inspired by the decision of the band to incorporate an Middle Eastern feel to the in-development style of ALFoB, which include odd song structures, over instrumentation and an overall equilibrium between musical fluenty and unstabilty. The adquisition of a Santur (a traditional Persian instrument) by a member of the band also suggested strongly the musical theme for the song.

The name refers to the scientific name to the mosquito (probably discovered in Egypt) which is vector of Dengue, a viral disease which is endemic in Guatemala. There are reported almost 4,000 cases in 2015, and 6 of its most lethal variant, Hemorragic Fever, according to the health minister of the country. It is a serious issue in a third-world nation where poverty is very common (specially in the rural zones) and only a very tiny percent of the populaton has access to adequate health care services; specially when climate circunstances favors the aparition of an increase of the case numbers due massive propagation of the vector. 

Although "A Life Full of Bugs" has only strictly artistic and creative objectives, in a search to convey some creativity on music along with insects references and word-plays, we also understand the relevance of Dengue on our own country.

Aedes aegypti

HABITAT: WOODS, is a story that comprises the idea of bug's life in the forest. We selected as our actors a Beetle community in a awesome natural location. It will be a 3-part song, which will tell the story abour their daily cycles, which (using a good dose of imagination) can be as interesting, unexpected and tragic as sometimes our lives are.

In this first part, Woodland's Lullaby, we attempt to portray the evening's end in the forest, and to imagine all the beetles returning to bury themselves and their loved ones to enjoy the night and wait for next day. But as night approaches, everything, including the future of some of them, gets darker. Thats where the tender Lullaby becomes an Horror-movie Soundtrack.
