In 2015, Compost Records reaches two landmarks: We celebrate our 20 years label anniversary and we release catalogue number 500, which reveals „COMPOST 500“, a memorable collection of brand new, unreleased tracks plus a lot of highlights and undiscovered pearls from the Compost vault of the past two decades.

COMPOST 500 is included as download code in the jubilee book „SOUL / LOVE – 20 Years Compost Records“, a 250-page book, packed with stories, about 450 fotos, memorabilia, anecdotes, music, covers and comments from ca. 60 companions, remixers, friends and artists, including illustrious characters like:

#1 FRESHLY COMPOSTED
The Freshly Composted serie (50, 100, 250, 300) always represents a musical snapshot of Compost Records, bringing together a variety of genres and vibes, all produced by some of the finest artists at the moment.
This “COMPOST 500 – Freshly Composted” episode includes previously unreleased tracks and remixes by Siren, Mark E, Mathias Schaffhäuser, Claudio Ricci & Megablast, SHOW-B, Robinn, Marbert Rocel, Emilie Nana and Compost Allstars (consisting of Christian Prommer, Beanfield’s Jan Krause, Roland Appel and Michael Reinboth) featuring Robert Owens and others.

#2 SOME MICHAEL REINBOTH FAVOURITES
In this chapter, our label head Michael Reinboth picked some of his fave tunes from the Compost back catalogue, including the works of Carl Craig, Âme, John Talabot, Todd Terje, Moonstarr, Jay Shepheard, Beanfield, A Forest Mighty Black and more. Of course there are much more, but those timeless tracks played a significant role in the Compost history.

#3 HIDDEN GEMS
The third chapter of COMPOST 500 points out a selection of top B-sides, secret weapons and undiscovered pearls from the Compost vault. You’ll find a lot of solid, but barely explored material here, such as tracks and remixes by Psychemagik, Henrik Schwarz, Zero dB, Move D, John Tejada, Christian Prommer, Lexx and more!

Moodmusic brings out a new EP from Venezuelan producer Pablo Sanchez called ‘Easy Out EP’. The original comes backed with remixes from Patlac, Baldo and the boss Sasse himself.

Sanchez is an established producer who has released a number of collaborative EPs in his time. He also plays live, has toured the US and has links with labels like liebe*detail and GAMM amongst others.

You can hear relics of Sanchez’s years spent in New York on the excellent ‘Easy Out.’ The song is a modern take on the legacy of NY disco and friends of his like Metro Area and Nick Chacona. A true summer anthem, it’s got bold bass strokes, twinkling melodies and hip swaying hand claps that really suck you in.

First to tackle a remix is Patlac, a German star of Hamburg imprint liebe*detail, Noir and Pets Recordings who favours emotion in his music. His take on the original is the deepest and most heady of the lot, with rolling chords, slowly rising synth lines and a mischievous sense of late night energy.

Barcelona stalwart Baldo steps up next. He runs a pair of labels in Good Ratio and Neovinyl and is a fine DJ who plays alongside the best of them. His terrific version is stripped back and deep, insular and reverential with its spacey pads and cosmic atmospheres. Finally, the boss steps up with a Bass Dub mix that is perfectly lazy and inviting, with smeared chords, textured bass stabs and a mid tempo groove that couldn’t be more suited to early evening sessions.

This is a lush EP full of nocturnal musical flavours that really will find a place in your affections. ‘Easy Out EP’ is out August 3rd.

"Waiting For The Daylight" is a song about a conversation between an Astronaut and his wife. 
The spaceman has been stuck out there for years and is reaching a breaking point. 
He is a kind man on a mission but shows his fragility when he asks about his kids. 
Not knowing what time it is and not being able to listen to his music while even more frighten aliens cross his spaceship is testing very hard on his control. 
He spins between satellites but his hope for the daylight to appear is his only lifeline. 

Dino Lenny about this track: 
"I wrote this track badly playing my 100 year old Piano (recorded with my iphone)   
I was in my living room but like it often happens I felt I was out there in Space. Wondering about and feeling deep immerse in a mission that I didn't really care about.. 
I sometimes ask myself what is the point? But then as usual at the lowest step..  the light appears and I feel like a child in a sweet shop!" 

About Dino Lenny: 
Dino Lenny starts very young as a radio deejay in a small town of the South of Italy, Cassino. After a few years of experience, in the early mid nineties, he is crowned "master of ceremonies" of the Maltese nights, gathering more than 2000 people on the famous Axis' dancefloor. He grows up within an interesting group of lads such as Savino Martinez and Claudio Coccoluto, and in 1996 he decides to seek fortune in the United Kingdom, his native country. In London his career gets a boost thanks to a long series of important remixes: Inxs, Underworld, Missy Elliot, Timbaland etc and the collaborations with The Housemartins, Scissors Sisters & Madonna just to mention a few names. His productions are just as interesting as the remixes and Dino Lenny earns for three times in a row the label of " Essential New Tune" on Radio One (BBC) by Pete Tong. 
Considered "The Wizard of the Electronic music" by the Chemical Brothers, Dino Lenny explores the full range of his potentialities and starts singing. With a simplifying abbreviation of his name, Dino records the single “Call me” which becomes a terrifically popular track all over Europe. The British press defines his vocal talent as a halfway between the Talking Heads and Ian Dury. Dino shows up a perfect Serpico style and sings in front of his raving fans at Tops of the Pops. 
The successful single gives just a hint of what will happen with the release of the album "Might". 
Whilst busy with more important collaborations, Dino is invited by Hardage to take part to his project which includes Jocelyn Brown and Maxi Priest , Level 42 and Peter Gabriel, amongst the others. 
He produces with Steve Lawler under the name Sladly the well received “Unicorn” and writes the soundtrack for one episode of CSI Miami in the middle of the preparation of the next “solo” album. 
A few months later Dino Lenny flies to Montreal to open the UNICEF concert - which gathers more than 7,000 people.  
Dino warms up the audience for Avril Lavigne and at the end of 2011 he performs live with Skin & Underworld at The Brixton Academy 
Lenny has also written the soundtrack for one episodes of CSI Miami and also for Irvine Welsh's film "Ecstasy" 
After David Byrne's approval "I Wanna be Like Talking Heads/ A Dj Deep Inside" gets released on Strictly Rhythm. 
The story continues on his favourite label of the moment.. while he's still "Waiting For The Daylight" to come out soon on Exploited!
