Our No. 222 today comes from an artist who has been accompanying me musically more or less continuously for about 2 years. To overhear him is basically pretty really hard. Not only because of his high output and commitment, but especially because of the high quality that can be found in all his mixes. So is the case with ours.

We are talking about kośa who also runs the well-known label Kosa which preferably stands for experimental downtempo that can be classified somewhere between world music and slow deep house. As a solo artist Tarun is very successful on the road. Among other things, he has played at the well-known Berlin club Kater Blau several times.

His recorded mix begins like an ode to the Bronx of the 80s when hip hop played with oriental music elements. As the tape progresses, it becomes deeper and more driving, without losing its slow character. In the process, he reveals a wide range of subgenres...Towards the end, Tarun returns to the starting point, skillfully closing the circle. In his set, he provides equal amounts of release and tension. A perfect formula for an easy-going, danceable afterhour. Fasten your seatbelts...

Unsere Nr. 222 kommt heute von einem Künstler, der mich seit ungefähr 2 Jahren mehr oder weniger ununterbrochen musikalisch begleitet. Ihn zu überhören ist im Grund ziemlich wirklich schwer. Nicht nur auf Grund seines hohen Outputs und Engagement, sondern vor allem wegen der hohen Qualität, die sich in all seinen Mixen wiederfindet. So auch bei unserem. 

Die Rede ist von kośa der zudem das bekannte Label Kosa betreibt welches vorzugsweise für experimentellen Downtempo steht, der sich irgendwo zwischen Worldmusic und slowen Deep House einordnen lässt. Als Solokünstler ist Tarun überaus erfolgreich unterwegs. So bespielete er unter anderem den bekannten Berliner Club Kater Blau bereits mehrere Male.

Sein eingespielter Mix beginnt wie eine Ode an die Bronx der 80er als der Hip Hop mit orientalischen Musikelementen spielte. Im weiteren Verlauf wird das Tape immer deeper und treibender, ohne seinen slowen Charakter zur verlieren. Dabei offenbart er eine große Bandbreite von Untergenren…Gegen Ende kehrt Tarun wieder zum  Ausgangspunkt zurück und schließt somit gekonnt den Kreis. I love capturing moods from nature and the audience and turning them into dance music.
My down- to midtempo style is shaped by sounds and melodies by landscapes, rhythms and voices of all kinds of countries around the world. It is important to me that the heart opens through music and that one can dance in perfect harmony without paying attention to it. - Lose yourself to dance -

We are being welcomed into a new month - a new moon - with a very special podcast created by MarinJah. Her daily life consists out of working with energies being a Qiqong teacher - and this is without a doubt reflected in her love for sounds and vibrations through music.

As ‘Mbuki Mvuki’ stands for that irresistible feeling to just take off all your clothes so you can dance around freely, it’s exactly that energy she put into this mix: by dancing you can feel your soul and your body moving the sounds.

Although being aware that the music industry is still mainly man-dominated, we can definitely say that we are happy to see that slowly the female energy is more expressed in the scene and starts to flow stronger! MarinJah loves female DJ’s for the emotions sensible in their mixes, finding this way to balance the heart and mind and move you deeply.

"It seems 100bpm has me in it’s nourishing hold, I cant quite manage to crawl back out of the slowness and surrender into it instead, this reflects my inner and outer worlds right now, where I choose slowness and simplicity.

Technically and in terms of the birthing, this is my favourite mix I’ve made to date. I carefully selected tracks which I Love and closer touched upon the sound residing within my soul - slow, deep and dark. These are tracks that I am itching to play on a proper sound system to a dancefloor covered in wimpels and moving bodies. Even though I carefully selected them, there was something bigger choosing what wanted to be expressed, I find this with music alot, its a great reflector and also a vessel for spirit to express itself.

After 11 days in bed sick, this was my healing. Music continues to be one of the greatest resources of nourishment for me and I give thanks to each of the artists that create these masterpieces and show themselves for the World to feel and hear.

I hope this mix finds you in the most perfect moment. Surrounded by curiosity and present moments.
