Kendang Jogja Rasa Manila is Indonesians words. Kendang is traditional Javanesse drum. Jogja is a name of city in Indonesia. Rasa means taste. Manila is a name of city in the Philippines. This title is a litle bit parody. The song it self presented a Javanesse kendang beat in a such reggae rhythm.  And the song actually makes a meditative mood and nuance, since there is repetition of melody.

There is a long story behind the title. And the process of creative actually takes a long time. The first version of this song was an illustration piece for poetry reading in Jogja and played by Javanesse gamelan (1985). After I have a synthesizer Yamaha W5, which I bought it in Manila (1995), I arranged the song with this synthesizer. For any reason, I ask my friend Kendar Bhakti Nusantara, an ex-conductor of an orchestra in Jakarta, to arrange the song with musical software. The song I upload in this site is this software version. Enjoy the song.

I am a writer and a journalist (for prominent media in Jakarta). But thank God that I have a gift to compose song. So I make this musical project: Pabrik Bunyi. Genre? I have no. 

In the first album "Hyperpositive" (2006), I wrote six songs which arranged by two friends Kindar Bhakti Nusantara ( an ex-conductor of an orchestra in Jakarta) and Seno (with their professional skill to operate CakeWalk). For any reason (simplicity, low cost budget), all songs are still in software version. Some songs were distributed thru iTunes and Import.
