The second edition of Time Trials features none other than West-Coast legend Tone Rangole. Tone is co-founder of Household Recordings & Lifted Music and is also resident DJ at Strut SF. Household Recordings is an established California bay area record label that has released outstanding records from pioneers such as Terry Francis, Nathan Coles & Nils Hess, Jay Tripwire, Eddie Richards, and Gideon Jackson.

Tone Rangole has been on the turntables since ‘99, being a student of the underground and fan of the house music movement since ‘95. Tone's production has been featured on his own label Household, along with Graff Traxx and NSF Records.

He’s gone deep into his bag to provide us with over an hour of genuine vinyl selections. We hope you enjoy this rare treat!

Built on the fundamentals of tight grooves and basslines so sweet that they are just meant to be. His tracks have found their way into almost all conceivable record bags, the world over and will continue to do so. From his early works on legendary labels Tuning Spork and Freak n' Chic, to his expansive work on his self-titled label, it seems a sin that he has not featured in our mix series until now. Seb Zito is at the epicenter of the global underground. He has lived and experienced all the key musical movements of the last 30 years, from sweaty raves to pirate radio, US garage and UK house, to classy European minimal and sleek modern techno. With such a widened palette for sounds and styles, he crafts his sets with these experiences in mind to create a unique offering that sets him apart in the world of dance music. “My aim is to make people dance with tracks that go off on the floor,” he says, “but with a sprinkle of those emotional moments that bring out those special feelings.” His dancefloor educating has taken him across the globe, from the darkest basements to biggest festival stages; Space Miami and one of the original FUSE residents, Fabric night curator, WHP Manchester, Studio 338, Elrow and most sound systems around the White Island of Ibiza have all had the pleasure to amplify Seb’s sounds. In the studio, his style is best categorized under irresistible groove, which has taken his music to most of the leading dance music labels across the world. His innate desire to not be constrained by styles or genres, to push outside of his comfort zone and disrupt expectations will forever encapsulate and keep dancers on their toes.
