* Someone calls out for help, another begs for mercy.
* The sounds of helpless monsters go on and on until-
* ...The screams stop.

* A group of monsters terrorizing their own, five in total.
* Their faces are obscured, except one.
* A familiar smile. A recognizable, annoying smile.
* He's spotted you.

* As the group walked closer. details on them felt readable.
* "He" had powder on his wear.
* Clothes was different, it was a more darkish-purple, maybe navy coat.
* The rest felt unimportant, usual monster folk you'd see around in the place.
* One looks scared. Another is mortified, crying guilty tears. The other two are indescribable.
* It's already noticeable what they're doing.
* But what is any of this for?

* "He" shushed them.

Melunacy by Kae is an undeniable, often slept-on classic in the UTSC sphere. I remember listening to it for the first time in my middle school theater program, and something about the atmosphere it created just captivated me. There had been horror tracks in the community before, of course, but none were able to evoke the sense of uneasiness that Melunacy did. Listening to it really felt like you were facing off against something incomprehensible - and so, I wanted to create an equally eldritch and surreal atmosphere for my take on it.

This take heavily interpolates and bases itself around "Enlacing" by Clipping. It seemed extremely appropriate, as that song is all about the experience of eldritch terror, and that's exactly how I've always seen Melunacy.

The thumbnail was entirely edited together by me.
