Brighton-based producer Silloh, real name Hugo Hollis,
returns to Soulvent with a bass-heavy 2-track single in the
form of ‘The Conqueror’. Initially releasing on the first edition
of our ‘Tonics’ series back in May, Hugo’s productions are
beginning to garner support from some well-respected
tastemakers including the much-loved Break, who released
Silloh’s second release on his own Symmetry Recordings with
‘Fields of Green’.

Opener ‘The Conqueror’ stakes its claim with playful pops of
tuned percussion and big drums setting the tone. Robotic,
processed vocals take centre stage leading in a sense of
dread while the drop ushers in menacing sonics for a truly
deep, dark and gully experience on this heavy-duty creeper.

Moscow trio Champion Sound debuts on Defrostatica Records with dancehall legend Hawkeye from Kingston for "Ghetto Youth", a hard hitting 85 bpm declaration to own the weekend with a little less conversation. The Russian jungle soundsystem crew vibes more casually on "Talk" but the tune can't shake the warning undertone. 

The b-side features two international remixes: the US vapourwave king Nmesh channels his inner crowd control abilities on "Ghetto Youth" whereas Sun People from Austria rebuilds "Talk" perfectly for an all-out 160 bpm breakbeat twist.

Champion Sound is a producer trio who played together in a reggae band and then
decided to form their dub and jungle love into modern club tracks. Neekeetone, Distant Roots and General Koondoongoo are pushing a sound within the Moscow bass scene that is tearing down the city's techno barriers for a diverse vibe of dubstep, jungle and footwork. 

With a recently released 12" on Berlin based label Through These Eyes Records and DJ support by the likes of Om Unit, Moresounds, J:Kenzo, Sun People, Mister Shifter, Mystic Pulse they are on their way to ravers worldwide.

Parisian imprint [re]sources is unveiling the third volume of its Human Resources series, following up with the previous editions which had introduced to a new generation of French producers such as Sylvere, Sunareht, Le Dom, Chams, Katuchat or Dehousy.

With this new release, the [re]sources crew have invited international friends and producers, some of them who were guests on the label’s bi-monthly radio show on Rinse France. An extended number of nationalities is represented in this list of rising DJs and producers: Australia (Galtier), Greece (Radio Etc), Japan (Grandivaa), Mexico (Omaar), Korea (Mignon), USA (Ten TwentySeven, Farsight) and quite a few brits (Holloway, Arma, LMajor, El James, J-Shadow).

Tempos run from 90 to 140 bpm while the mood captures the essence of the new club cultures and cross genre experimentations. A blend of UK bass influences that merge together in the sounds of Techno, Electro, Dancehall, UK Funky, Jungle and UK Garage. A sound the label has been pushing for more than 5 years now. A weighty stack of club smashers you won't never stop to boost in the sound system, at home and on the dancefloor.

Let's be honest, the definitions around what is an isn't an EP have blurred somewhat recently. Why they've blurred I couldn't really tell you but I can tell you that here at none60 an EP has to meet this criteria - 1) It has to be good (hopefully great!) and 2) it should be 4 or more tracks! 

2 or 3 tracks is a single.... I'm all for change and bucking trends but you can't be going around calling a single an EP.

Anyway, you all want to know about the music, so here we go! The boys wonder Jaskin & Uneven should be no strangers to none60 fans so it made perfect sense to have them kick off our run of EPs to close out 2019! This is the first artist EP on none60 and what an EP! From the hypnotising synths of "Again", the room shaking bass of "Signals", the slapping snares of  "Fiction" and the acid workout of the title track "Safe Edge" - this is pure forward thinking Drum & Bass!

For the 2nd label release of 2020, 3000 Bass welcome the up-front sounds of Benjamin Bogart, a producer whose unique blend of hard hitting drums alongside a more tech-heavy approach to bass design has earned him some fantastic plaudits.

Firstly, we dive into the title track ‘Cruise Control’, a very well thought out 4x4 design, dripping in dance floor-ready grooves and sound design, topped off with some super smooth vocal additions from the ever-ready Dread MC, a name that within the bass scene particularly needs no introduction whatsoever. As well as this, Benjamin supplies us with a secondary ammo pack as ‘Bring It Back’ follows with more grizzly bass sounds, this time with a much more haunted atmosphere throughout.
Both tracks are belters, and perfect for that first rave of the year feeling that sweeps the country every January!
