Out of This Mess, the title Track of my new EP that was released on 16th June 2023. The idea behind the song is the difficult period between being a teenager and a fully independent adult - which I personally found very difficult all those years ago.

The song, from the album Where I'm From, is about wishing for someone that they would get help and get out of their darkness (or sadness). We're all born "bright" and often life pulls us down. Sometimes we need a little help to stand up and shine brightly again.

The story behind the song is about a boy who want to be a girl. The real reason, however, I wrote the song was because of the last line in the song - "You don't have to understand me babe, just accept me as I am". I had heard often enough in conversation with others the words "I need to understand it before I can accept it", and I just thought, there are somethings in life that we can't understand and that's ok. Sometimes we just have to accept things even if we don' understand them.

This is a track that happened accidentally. I was playing with my midi and came up with the initial keyboard melody. then I just challenged myself to make a song out of it.  It's in three parts - first keys melody wth drum beat, second beat changes, voices come into place, third electric guitars give it a climax. I love it!

This is a very old traditional parting song. I heard it a lot as a child. today, there are numerous versions out there to be heard.

I Am

The Song is a re-arrangement and re-recording of the song Muchacho that I released two years ago. It's a dedication to a dear friend who grew up in Chile during difficult times and has lived in Germany since the early 1970's. A lover of good music, song and dance, a dear fried that passed away some months ago. I wrote the song while he was sick and could no longer dance or play music like he used to.

Padraig released his Debut Album “Where I’m From” in February 2022 and his second studio recording, the EP “Out of This Mess” in June of this year. The songs on the EP and his Debut Album (last year) are all personal and „me“ as he says. With the exception of two covers on the EP and one of the Songs on the Debut album, all songs were written by Padraig (words, music, arrangement). 

A single release is due for late October.
