Lemondrop

Here's a sonic diary entry. Leann was new to FL Studio at the time and wanted to make something on her own after being inspired by a quirky plugin, Synplant. Everything was produced and recorded by Leann apart from the bass line, then Jake came in for the mix down and master. Leann's vocals came from a very raw place and so our approach in every other step was aimed at preserving that. Thanks for listening! :)

Paintbrush is a collaborative art project whose aim is to spread peace, positivity, and love through their creations. Founded in Orlando, Florida, paintbrush is comprised of two artists: Leann Corbitt and Jake Sanabria. Their style dances between lofi hip-hop, boom bap grooves, and indy pop. Their first single, Lemondrop, was released as a bold introduction for their sound and a taste of what is to come.

Growing from a diverse background, Leann and Jake pull from a wide variety of creative inspiration. Leann grew up jamskating, a type of breakdancing performed on roller skates, and eventually moving to breakdancing itself and a variety of other dance styles. This interest inspired her to begin collecting pieces of musical hardware and express her experience in a fresh way. 

Raised in a family of musicians and culture enthusiasts, Jake became proficient with multiple musical instruments and even began toying with his first Digital Audio Workstation at age 7. He saw music as a way to express himself in ways he wasn't comfortable with personally. Working with other small artists and producing mixes for events/shows deepened Jake's will to pursue his hobby. Especially after finding that Leann shared a similar dream: to bring people together through music.
