I used Vividtracker to reference the original tracker song. I have not spent a lot of time mixing the final version. The last thing I did was add reverbs to the channels. This only took me <15 minutes so there is bound to be room for improvement left there.

A thing I noticed here, a learning moment, was with the way I did transitions between scene's. Here I used those reverse cymbal like synth sound like noise and saw and a synth pad when ending a scene. They build up in volumes the closer to the end. When beginning a scene I did these the other way around and added a metal like hit. I made the pad sound a bit longer. This all seemed to add a bit more epicness to the song. Filling it up a bit.

With this remix I kind of had the idea I should of used more references. I practically used none this time. I'm also kind of hold back with the problem that the cpu is to slow to have lots of synths. I need to get more used to freezing and unfreezing tracks I think.

I kind of failed at this song with the lead parts. I ended up layering 3 different synths for the lead part but it I think I could have done better. I hope I wil learn new tricks to solve that when I do more remixes/songs.

The time system in the original mod was something I was not familiar with. I had to change this. The mod skipped the pattern at the 40th note.
I'm not that familiar with the style this remix turned into. I'm thinking now that I might have needed more layered brasses.

No direct reference used to tweak the sound into a certain direction. This song I chose while going through a Amiga Album by dr. awesome(bjorn lynne) Maybe I wil pick another on for the next one.
I used various layers for the leads. Stil trying to get experience with leads. It seems that mostly by adding a bell layer to them(doubling) seems to have a nice effect.
The chords are stil a big problem for me. I can not seem to push myself into doing a real study on chords.

A level up was achieved for me during making this song. I was tweaking the drums and noticed the sound really improved when nudging the eq's. These lowering the lows really had a nice effect. It seemed as that muddy/damp sound dissapeared when doing this. A definate future thing to take into account.

My discovery was that to feel comfortable is to have making funny and serious voices go easier.

Just let your voice do something randomly and go through with it. See what it does. Relax and tweak.
