Music has the power to be a really beautiful thing. It marks certain moments in time that you carry with you your whole life. When ever you hear certain tracks they transport you right back to some place wonderful. I'm madly in love with my girlfriend Christina and went with her in 2012 to Lightning in a bottle where I played this set. LIB is a wonderful and diverse festival on the West coast of America. It was Christina's and my first festival together. I wanted to make it a really really special trip and decided beforehand to play only for her that day inspired by, and full of, my love for the most gorgeous, lovely and sweet girl I've ever met.

In the world of Drum & Bass, Bailey's quite a unique prospect. As a broadcaster he was committed to playing the best of drum & bass from across the multitudes of sub genres and micro movements. His 360 degree vision made his shows on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and Ministry of Sound Radio the perfect place for the d&b aficionado or casual dabbler to go to keep up to date with the form as a whole. Since moving on from the radio he's continued to plough the same furrow in the clubs, promoting his own free to go mid-week club night, Soul In Motion and treating audiences to the sort of all encompassing sets that got him noticed in the first place.

His passion for the form really shines through, in conversation or on tape so it goes without saying that we're excited to be able to present his latest mix, made ahead of his upcoming appearance alongside LTJ Bukem  in Room Two on Friday 27th February.

Recorded in 2017, Strange finds Gideon Jackson in full flow, bumpy, melodic, and raw slices of tech house that showcase the sound he helped shape in London’s underground.

We’re putting this mix out now to mark something special: Gideon’s long-awaited return to the decks, first at Archivio presents Wiggle (H0L0, NYC – Oct 18) and then at Wiggle (Gaffe, London – Nov 1). The mix is both a snapshot of where he came from and a taste of the roots he’ll be digging back into for these shows.

A reminder of why his name is woven into the early fabric of London’s tech house movement, and why we’re so excited to welcome him back.
