Fresh from the release of Above on the 14th May, courtesy of UK artist Girls Of The Internet, scene heavyweights Fideles step up to provide a stunning remix of the original. Released next month on the recently-formed Palm Recs imprint the remix showcases the Italian duo at their best.

For their take on the track, Fideles bring their signature style and create a dance floor-ready cut whilst retaining the feel of the original. The distorted vocal is layered over a driving bass that carries the remix through layers of melodic synths, conjuring a deep and brooding sound dripping in atmosphere.

The group described how Moloko’s The Time Is Now inspired them, stating: “We had the words running through our minds for a few weeks, just thinking about where they took us. It sparked us into writing Above. All the best love songs have a shot of poison. Musically, we were back at Patrick Adams meets Basic Channel.” It’s a blissful five-minute offering, made up of rounded percussion and a warming underlying groove. Gentle kick-hat combos make up the overarching rhythm, whilst soothing vocals accentuate the track’s reflective nature. Dreamy chords soon meander into rolling key chimes to form an emotive, feel-good cut.

Celebrated UK producer Preditah makes his debut on Palm Recs this July with ‘Glucose’  The track  sees Preditah going back to the roots of his iconic UK garage infused dance-floor sound. The a-side acts as the third release on the label, fresh from the success of DRAMA’s Don’t Hold Back last month and Girls Of The Internet in May. Preditah rose to prominence in the UK grime scene, signing to iconic collective Boy Better Know in 2013 before going on to produce official remixes for the likes of Disclosure, Skepta and Robyn to name a few. His productions have achieved BPI Gold and BPI Platinum status on several occasions, including 2017’s smash On My Mind with Jorja Smith and 2019’s So High with Mist & Fredo, the latter landing at number seven in the ‘Official UK Singles Chart’.

Life On Planets spoke about what the EP represents, stating: “Stay/Real High Key is a return to form focusing on grooves, storytelling and the raw feeling of live music. I recapitulate moments from the past and transmute them into fuel to create a brighter future.”
That nostalgic sense is felt right from the offset, as Stay begins with funky guitar riffs residing atop driving kick-hat combos. Phill’s feel-good vocals feature throughout, whilst swinging synths create that signature upbeat feel. Real High Key completes proceedings, taking the form of a gentle pop cut. It’s groovy, reflective and devilishly danceable, three traits that have come to epitomise Phil’s music in recent times.
Life On Planets is the solo project of singer/guitarist Phill Celeste. Melding hip-hop, R&B, soul and house in his original productions, the artist’s eclectic style has taken him from the streets of Baltimore to cities the world over.
