“Rave” is the regaining of freedom for which Gunjah fought. He wrestled with himself in a constant struggle for identity. What is good music, and who really still wants to hear what I feel? This is what the child of the 90´s asked himself, only to determine: “I don’t care”! And so he produces, plays and loves that which he was always capable of: a good rave. To throw away the mask and dance freely. Shunning imposed images, forced identities and invented personalities. In the video, the dancer is looking for a shelter, and he moves to gain freedom. He dances for his
freedom, Gunjah snuggles up to his music. Together, they are “Rave”: One video, one single and two remixes.
Recreated by the Brazilian superstar Gui Boratto, a remix emerged as an ideological solidarity. Gui inspired Gunjah to be true to himself, and he interprets his music as a fraternal matter of course.
The greatest Gunjah lobbyist, Niconé, has known “Rave” and its creator since childhood days, and can therefore naturally connect with it. He mixes it with the same self-evident fact that Gunjah and Niconé have been close pals in spirit and on joint projects for years.

Privacy returns to Lobster Theremin with three slabs of slimy, modular, machine-driven electro. Human Resource Exploitation Manual is an aural guide in the optimum exploitation of human substance and material. 

Milled from the charred detritus of human-cyborg fragments, 'Constant Transient' is a race out of an interstellar hellish warzone, where only Android Queens and Alien Overlords have survived the neutron bomb. 

'Code' picks up at the reboot of the human memory, on a far-away planet in the outer rim. Identity is all but lost, and all that remains are fragments of incoherent data and a face scorched into the cerebral cortex. 

Now recovered and functioning at 98%, 'Apex Predator' is the boss-level inertia. A scrap across time, out of comic-book fantasy and straight into a 90's rave warehouse rooftop battle. Breakbeats collide with bionic armour and lasers outshine lasers. Its humans vs the machines. 

But who really wins in the end?

Round 004 and NONSTOP chief Pirupa comes out swinging, backed by a crew of fresh talent and four stunning new party anthems.

First up is the tried and tested monster collab ‘Go’. The Shawnecy vocalled track has been a firm Marco Carola favoruite, rocking many a Music On party over recent weeks with its breakbeat drop and thumping keys. A partnership thats already struck gold with 2009’s Sweet Devil, does so again on this epic, progressive and uplifting number.

Olivier Mateu (Rodriguez Jr.) will be the first to admit it; he’s never satisfied. From his time as a mathematics student in his nascent rave days in the French city of Montepellier, to the itchy musical feet that would only grow as the years progressed, and his time as one-half of influential live act The Youngsters on Laurent Garnier’s FComs label, he’s always striven to push himself to the next level – both creatively and technically.

With each release, you can simultaneously get the sense of an exquisitely talented artists who is grafting to get the most out of himself and his machines, while being astonished at the creativity and intricate sound design of his work to create stirring dancefloor-ready compositions that sound just as good a club or festival, as they do through a pair of headphones during a home listening session.

The generous four-track work is lead by title track ‘Petropolis’ - a master study in tension and release, the stripped back techno beats, summon the kind of sweat-dripping off-the-walls transcendental rave experience that’ll have you grinning for days afterwards. ‘Capitelle’, is vintage Rodriguez Jr., uplifting and melancholic in equal doses and is propelled by a muscular, compression-heavy bassline that builds towards a sublimely trippy crescendo.

Always one to technically stretch himself, ‘Sulfuric State’ sees the savvy sound technician utilize his beloved 303 not for a distorted, full throttle acid onslaught, but rather something far gentler; a mesmerizing and emotive nine-minute trip through time and space. The first sneak peek from the Frenchmen’s upcoming album, ‘Cily’ sees the tempo drop into dreamy ‘90s house territory, with subtle references to the classic French touch sound, but re-imagined in Rodriguez Jr.'s own fresh original way.

Il réconcilie la ballade et le club, la détente et la fougue, et son refrain aux allures de «tube» finit par persister agréablement dans nos oreilles.

With this title, Lecomte de Brégeot is reconciling the ballade and the club, the relaxation and the enthusiasm ; the chorus sounding like one of a hit pleasantly remains in our ears.

Regarding the remixes, Sovnger is pleasing us with his good production level and minimal touch, it reminds us of a Crosstown Rebels release.
Then, Attar! is restructuring the original with his own and effective Deep House vision. KorgBrain goes more Techno, making us feeling dreamy.

To marvellously end this EP, « Boxon Twist » is a good surprise, a real Techno-Electro demonstration or else a kind wink to the Boxon label.

Output is partly dictated by approach. After requesting Lebanese born producer, DJ and Morphine label owner Rabih Beaini for a store mix, he asks us to make the record selection for him. "It would be fun to work with tracks that are unfamiliar to me", he explains. The RH crew dug the bins and Beaini starts from scratch with approximately a hundred tracks to select from, creating cinematic, dissonant harmonies with his mixes.

Rabih Beaini is a lone voice in electronic music. As Morphosis, Beaini has been crafting away in the nether-regions of the techno underworld since the 90s. Few people thread as challenging and intriguing live shows as him, where dark wave, krautrock, post everything and techno all sit together in haunted hardware harmony. With his store mix, despite his adventurous approach, Beaini proves to be no different as a DJ.

Numerous idiosyncratic flourishes infiltrate their way into the sonic fold as ‘Dope’ slowly unfurls: angular background noises, richly adorned synths and reverberating sounds filled with genuine warmth occur throughout the beginning stages. These permutations subside momentarily, only to be restored with renewed vigour; the main, dub-infected rhythm is as hypnotising as it is unique, with improvisational touches coming and going right up until the dread atmospheres fade out to a close.

Within the trees, a majestic nest came to life under the cloak of darkness. Within it were the birds of the night, the graceful pilots who would career beneath the glow of the stars as the world slept below. Some said that creatures of darkness were those that haunted the dreams of those who lived within the woods. Others believed them to be guardian figures, protectors of the forest and watchful aids to life and progress. Their silent flight had begun. 

Sir Lord Comixx is a bit of a legend of sorts, we were delighted to learn that he is set to release a new EP on That Place records, an up and coming label with articulate attention to detail.
