Composed and performed with the Kueng bass recorder in F, and spontaneously recorded with an iphone in the medieval nunnery of Vreta, Sweden, on 2 March 2022. The performance space was a small round side chamber built before 1139. I am playing with the unique acoustics of the room [no amplification on site, no processing]. I was on my way to Finland, to the Saari residency, traveling on ground via Sweden.

Their Quiet Rooms

Sonja Leipold – playing on two harpsichords – and Pia Palme with electronics perform a new piece @UnsafeandSounds 2022, Zacherlfabrik Vienna, live recording. The piece is a composition by Pia Palme with improvised passages by Sonja Leipold. Leipold uses a set of analogue preparations. The harpsichords are amplified with microphones and contact microphones. The electronic tracks are generated with field-recordings from a Finnish forest at Saarinen. The recording further includes short passages of live harpsichord-processing.

MORDACIOUS LIPS, TO DUST

Featuring the renowned vocal performer Ute Wassermann, this 2015 work highlights outstanding contemporary vocality accompanied with electronics. The work was commissioned for Ute Wassermann by the festival Salzburg Biennale and is tailored to her singular mezzo-soprano, using her entire range of precisely sculpted noises together with her skill of modern vocal techniques.
Lyrics by Pia Palme, remixing Ute Wassermann's poem "Meine Stimme". The recording was made possible with funding from the New Voices 2015 program of Sound and Music, soundandmusic.org.
