For years now, an old recording of Jeffrey Sfire at Cocktail D'Amore's one and only cosmic hole was one of the highest references for us in terms of downtempo Italo sleaze - an almost 6 hours recording serving more like a PhD aural dissertation specialized in some of the most remarkable dancefloor digs (mainly Europe) had to offer in the 80s at under 115BPM. To be able to share it publicly on the HAND Mix Series as we reach number 50 is a huge honor and we're greatly thankful to Giacomo and Giovanni, the two cuties behind Discodromo that made this possible. We hope you can appreciate it as much as we have over these past years. Christophe is out of Bristol and (he'll hate me saying this) is mega talented across the board. He can just make stuff. His paintings are incredible and he can tur his hand to whatever he chooses. Aside form that he's got perfect taste for a Sunrise Session set. I know him for his fine selections of deep house but this year he came with a bag of balearic beats and they sounded perfect next to the water. A lovely set.

Trushmix 238 presents Sanctuary in the mix!
After their move from Australia, Sanctuary have been immersed in the Berlin scene for close to a decade, co-hosting the former Altered Soul Experiment nights and founding their label, Life Classics. The label started as a home for their edits, then later branched out into a mix series and club residency at OHM.

For Trushmix they made a one hour and forty minutes mix. House, deep tech and late 90´s top early 00´s on the menu. Loaded with firm favourites and a number of tunes we've been bumping in the clubs over the last few months. This one hits like a warm breeze so turn up the dial and roll off into the sunset.

I recorded a mix for Mr. Tong's "Essential Mix" radioshow and it will be sent straight into the heart of your ears this Saturday! 👂🏻👂🏼👂🏽👂🏾👂🏿

Really happy to say at least a third of the mix consists of music made or released by friends - a constant inspiration in my life! ❤️

I also wanted to give a bit of context, as I had two inspirations for this mix:

1. The beginning of an Auden poem called "On This Island" 🏝

"Look, stranger, at this island now
The leaping light for your delight discovers,
Stand stable here
And silent be,
That through the channels of the ear
May wander like a river
The swaying sound of the sea." 🌊

2. The mix starts with a song called "White Bird" by June11 and there is a beautiful background story to the song, that stayed with my during all the dreaming i was doing during the recording. 🕊

"White Bird was inspired by the story of the biplane L'Oiseau Blanc, that took off from Paris in 1927 and vanished on its way to New York. The pilots, Charles Nungesser and Francois Coli, were never seen again. Their PL.8-01 sea plane, made of wood and cloth, is thought to have broken upon landing. Nobody knows what really happened. I think L'Oiseau Blanc is still floating somewhere in the endless sky, with its ghosts, doing aerobatics. Maybe their plan was to have no plan, but to gracefully get away from darkness, time, madness, crowds." 🕊
