As ever with the Hell Yeah crew, there is an interesting back-story to the label’s next release, the ambitiously titled Coast to Coast EP. Firstly, the title refers to the fact that Justin VanDerVolgen hails from the east and Doc Martin the west coast of America, but that’s not all…

The label boss first heard Alexander Robotnick’s Undicidisco*track in a set by Golf Channel associate *Justin Vandervolgen. He went to ask what it was and turns out the track had only been released digitally. Keen to give it the full release it deserved on wax, he fully licensed it and got a remix from the man who first played it, as presented here. So far it’s done well, with Running Back boss Gerd Janson playing it recently at P-Bar – of, course it went down a storm... and Beats In Space's Tim Sweeney shouting "This is the Jam"... wow

The track itself is seven minutes of playfully droning bass synths and boom-bap percussion. It’s alive with darting synth tweaks and twitches and races through outer space at an inviting pace, radiating good time vibes from start to finish.

It’s a similar story with the flip – Hell Yeah’s Marco heard one of his (and dance music in general) heroes, Doc Martin, playing the Florian Meindl's bass driven original mix and immediately wanted to give it a full release, but not before asking Doc for a remix.

That remix is released here and is a heavyweight, shuffling bit of house funk with a tight, knotted and tumbling bass refrain propping up soaring diva vocals and grainy, infectious claps. It’s a wavy and hugely inviting groove that has plenty of lip-curling attitude to it.

A fine release with a great backstory that comes complete with great vinyl artwork designed by Andrea Amaducci, this Coast to Coast EP is yet another fine weapon in the Hell Yeah cannon.

Brame & Hamo are back with the third release on their eponymous imprint. ‘Trants’ and ‘Club Orange’ effortlessly upheld the Berlin based duo’s reputation for dancefloor ready hits, with the latter selling out in one day. Picking up where the others left off, ‘Limewire EP’ is a nod to their early influences channelling house, techno, trance and breakbeat.

Over three tracks, Brame & Hamo brandish the party starting spirit they are rapidly becoming known for. Broken beats feature heavily alongside subtle acid licks, uplifting harmonies and sweltering synth lines.

‘Parade Rain’ is a peak time house roller with pulsing bass, meditative pads and airy pipes that polish it off to make a fine rendition to early 90’s house. ‘Sports Complex’ the darkest of the EP, builds an intense energy with a heavy hitting 808 , shuttering reflections, a driving 303 line topped off with a trance-inducing melody that makes this into a big room bomb. The title track is a breakbeat workout honing a classy piano riff complimented with emotional synths, strings and more acid lines, a fruit for clarity. Finally “Tuff City Kids” aka Gerd Janson & Lauer round it up with a club ready interpretation of their title track, adding more drum layers, a jittering bassline and a simple but effective melody to finish it off.

‘Limewire’ EP finds the duo exploring a range of influences, expertly referencing various styles whilst still weighing in the sound that is now unmistakably theirs.

On September 4th, Peckham-based DJ and producer duo ​Chaos In The CBD ​will announce their ​In Dust We Trust ​UK & Ireland tour, and share a stream of their new track ‘Come Together’, from their upcoming 12” ‘Come Together / Digital Sound’.

The ​In Dust We Trust ​label tour will see the duo playing extended sets on a six-stop tour across the UK & Ireland, with stops at Manchester’s ​Hidden,​ London’s ​Corsica Studios ​and Brighton’s Patterns, ​with support from IDWT label co-founder Jon Sable.

They have also shared their new track ‘Come Together’, a jacking, percussive heavy hitter which features searing synths and a fierce bassline, from their new EP to be released on their IDWT imprint this October.

Louis from ​Chaos In The CBD says: “​Beans, Sable and I had been spitballing the idea of running a label for several years prior to moving to London in 2012. The turning point was getting a tattoo of IDWT on my arm in Paris, which for me meant I had to follow through with the project. After a long period of back and forth and feelings of trepidation leading up to the first release, the label has since gone from strength to strength.

The purpose of IDWT has always been to serve as an outlet to release our own music without being at the mercy of external labels, whilst also retaining full control of the project both musically and aesthetically. Our goal has always been to release timeless music that we will be proud of for decades to come. It’s been a natural progression since conception, and running label nights feels like the next logical step and will allow us to highlight some of our exceptionally talented DJ friends.”

COEO are back on Toy Tonics! After uninterrupted touring around the globe, followed by a short creative break the guys come back with an even stronger sound. With the new EP they go more underground again. Its addressed to the clubs and night owls out there, who turn night into day and won't stop dancing! 

The sound is based on classic house patterns and includes a lot of cool saxophones, big piano stabs & rhythmic piano solos. They even go tribal, use arpeggios and switch into breakbeat heaven. The four Originals are a great next step in the COEO evolution. The unique warm, catchy atmosphere of the tracks can create that special COEO euphoria which made them a lot of fans. From Moodymann to Disclosure, Mall Grab to Kenny Dope, the list is long. 

It’s fantastic to see how popular they became over the last couple of years. The last COEO vinyl sold over 2500 copies and some of their tracks have millions of Spotify plays. It’s DJ FOOD. Pure bliss!
