This new EP by Cuban Pioneer Kike Wolf fuses the vibrant energy of Caribbean rhythms with the raw, deep sound of Detroit electronic music. It explores a sonic territory where ancestral grooves meet futuristic machines blending heavy beats, organic percussion, and atmospheres that evoke both tropical heat and industrial intensity.
The project takes listeners on a journey between two musical worlds: one rooted in drums and street culture, the other in machines and dancefloors. The result is a unique sound that bridges cultural heritage and sonic experimentation

The music of Maltese producer Rudi Agius aka Jupiter Jax has always felt as much defined by mood as movement, guided by the “specific melancholy” of specific melodies. His latest long-player skews even more cinematic, conjuring twilit gardens and crooked city streets, windswept and warped by memory: No Such Thing. Inspired by notions of escape and the unknown, and threaded with dexterous live instrumentation, the album treads vibrant hybrids of moonrise electronica, downtempo dream house, and Balearic breakbeat, brooding but breezy, a Mediterranean midnight of the mind.

Agius speaks of his songs in terms of intuition and inevitability, how and where they transport the listener. These twelve tracks slip between senses and spheres, interplanetary but placeless, noir glimpses of ghostly coastlines and reflective reveries. Flutes, trumpets, voices, and percussion contour his club designs with a tactile fluidity, jazz accents reflecting off rain-slicked marble harbors, the wakening dawn still worlds away.

2020's tense, tectonic unrest is a fitting foreground for Andrew Morrison's freshest slab of bruised and blasted Cyclist productions, Weather Underground. Like their ravaged revolutionary group namesake, these tracks exude a mood of strife, shadows, and smoke, simmering protest transmissions from the grim north. The songs smear shades of industrial hypnosis, basement dub, and soul lament within his signature saturated “tape throb” palette like tagged concrete stained by tear gas. Rhythms of release and resistance, bodies in motion on the edge of the storm, coiled to strike for futures too unthinkable to lose.

The B3 offers a meditative close with “Wide Awake” from Padre Oe. A collaboration between Pete Lazonby, an artist with a long history most known for his chart heading solo production “Sacred Cycles” on Brainiak Records in the 90’s, and Otto Fischer, a Nigerian free-improvising singer, lyricist and guitarist best known for his guitar work with the Alexander Hawkins Ensemble. The track also features Henry Lowther on trumpet, widely recognised as one the UK’s best, and the strongest contributor to Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden with dozens of top of the pops appearances with a spanning list of important and renowned bands appearing at Ronnie Scott’s to Woodstock. The mood is Blue.
