Sheffield-based electro genius, Mean-E, provides us with yet another banging electro mix to add to the series. The don from the Steel City takes us through his eclectic taste for all things zappy and powerful - this one is not for the faint-hearted!

Joel Meaney’s productions under his alias Mean-E have been nothing short of sensational. With releases on massive platforms such as Asquith’s legendary Lobster Theremin label, Russia’s CyberJit, and a forthcoming with French posse JERRY HORNY alongside Tayside’s YTP, its safe to say we feel privileged to have such a talented artist on our mix series. 

Joel’s music journey began by raking through his parents’ hardcore vinyl collection - ranging from old school rave, jungle and gabber from back in time. Joel then began to produce music on a pirated software when he was 13, allowing him to release his first tune with CyberJit whilst in hospital with a broken knee (legend).

Today we bring you a walloping bit of breakbeat flavored electro from Erta Ale. The track in question is "SLN016B1" and it's a constantly morphing monster made up of synth stabs, robotic vocal snippets, bursts of noise and nonstop energy. It's a fun one for sure. Erta Ale's new EP comes out September 15th and it's only available on vinyl. Get it while you can.
