"To be honest: Preparing this set was weird for me. One year into the pandemic and my inspiration seems to have disappeared completely...
this is why I tried to bring together all genres of music that I enjoy the most and that make me feel warm and fuzzy: (jazzy) house, disco & funk. 

What's my view on the scene? When I started DJing over 10 years ago I was lucky to land in a bubble, where I met so many wonderful people and where gender equality was important and already a lived standard (most of the time). I felt respected and valued from the very start by the majority of people, wether fellow DJs, event organizers or people in the audience. I know that this is not a reality for everyone, but really hope that it will be very soon - everyone deserves this.

Here we go again, my third installment in my soul mix series. This one is starting out with a few tracks on the folky soul tip, then it's pretty much downtempo mid 70's modern tracks, plus some wierd jazzy soul tracks. All tracks in the mixes are 7" records, except from two tracks which is a album only tracks. Not too much dance music going on here. This is a mix made striclty for heartbreaks, drinks or casual chillout. All original first pressings from my collection - no bootlegs, reissues, compilations or bullshit. For Show #154 we welcomed the talented and multi-instrumentalist, Jeff Parker (Tortoise)!  JP has been a pillar of the Chicago jazz and experimental music scene for decades. With his recent release "The New Breed" a solo debut off International Anthem.  This Record is filled with mad Soul , Funk,Rock,  Jazz & breaks!  For you vinyl heads, this is a must pick up record!!  We were thrilled when JP came through along with his lovely kids, one of them being Ruby Parker who sang on the project as well.  Big ups to brother King Hippo who also came by and laced us with a wicked DJ set!  As always, we love our Chicago fam!  Enjoy this one!
