This autumn, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno, Drum & Bass and Tribe.


Artist Biography

Kick21 crafts fluid and frenetic atmospheres, drawing inspiration from techno, trance, IDM and DnB. Moving seamlessly across a spectrum of BPMs, his universe blends diverse styles into a harmonious fusion that instinctively explores the richness of grooves.
His selections weave a curious blend of magnetic and hypnotic ambiences, explored through sets that combine cold, industrial techno rhythms with organic, psychedelic textures. Instinctive and guided by a pursuit of intimacy, his music seeks to unite two worlds: the digital age, where electronic music is mentally shaped and a more primal, visceral form of sound, hence resonating with both mind and body.

For their inaugural release, London-based vysyon presents Mercuri: an enchanting EP of enigmatic techno featuring work by Swiss artists @varuna4053 & @mateohurtadomusic. 

Having developed their brand of abyssal club music through releases on Amenthia Recordings & their own imprint A Walking Contradiction, Varuna dive into the void on 'Remote Pulsar'. Driven by a disorientating polyrhythm cloaked in opaque atmospherics, the trio's otherworldly approach to sound design is on full display. By contrast, the pounding 4/4 kick & propulsive acid bass of 'Uvez Echos' entrance the listener into a state of dancefloor reverie. 

Mateo Hurtado casts his own unique magic over the flip, showcasing his archetypal mystic sound established via an album on Annulled music & remixes for Space Drum Meditation. The mesmerising flute melody of 'An Invisible Fire, Working In Secret' casts a spell of hypnosis, while the flowing, amorphous pads & twisted bass of 'The Eternal Mirror' conjure visions of worlds unknown.

Aura Sonora returns with a second release to follow up the fantastic first one, this time it brings together two meticulous studio craftsmen, DYL & Tammo Hesselink. Their Moire Patterns EP kicks off with 'Pattern 1', a deep and rhythmic slice of rubbery techno that rides broken beats with atmospheric pulses up top. 'Pattern 2 slows down to a predatory crawl with icy pads making  a dystopian vibe then 'Pattern 3' brings a sense of mystic tribal ritual deep in some futuristic jungle and 'Pattern 4' closes down with more fantastically crafted, dubby, broken rhythms that are topped with organic percussion and almost impossible not to move to. Pure rhythm science brilliance.

Lindenberg Support (Marius Haberstock) is a versatile dj / producer from a little town near Augsburg. 
In his productions he tries to mix abstract sounds, organic grooves, heavy kicks and elements related to 90s breakbeat with classic house and techno rhythms.
As a dj he maintains a similar approach.
Usually the music in his sets is club focused and rough, ranging between contemporary and classic.
